Clear The Elixir Well Description
The Blacksmith will give you this quest, with your first step just being to reach the Elixir Well. In total, there are three objectives, which you’re able to find below.
This is located deep within the Shroud to theright of Braelyn Bridge,so let’s go over how to get here next.

How To Reach The Elixir Well
Before setting out, we suggest bringing the following materials.
It’s also important to note thatthe marker for this quest is slightly off.If you haven’t explored this area, the marker looks like it’s on a plateau of Shroud-free land. Above, you can see the marker slightly above the location of the Elixir Well, which ismarked with a death icon.
The best way to reach the Elixir Well is bygliding over from the edge of the platform where your first base is. Above, you can check out this location. From this starting base, head directly north until you come to a cliff ledge.

From this ledge, glide over to therocky face jutting out of the Shroud. The top of this does not have any enemies or Shroud, so you can take a second to regain your stamina and catch your breath before diving into the Shroud.
When you are ready, glide down to the Shroud-covered ground below. Here, you will be on a surface full of wreckage; this area lies directly above the Shroud Root that you are trying to reach. If you came in from the way described, you should find a descending staircase after heading northinto the building wreckage.

This is the’back' of the area above the Elixir Well.If you come from the direction of Braelyn Bridge, you will need to cross straight through this stretch of land. There will be a lot of enemies here, so be careful! Our path avoids most enemies,so you can quickly enter the well without spending too much time exposed to the Shroud.
The entrance is ona raised stone area.If you get lost, just attempt to find this high point.

How To Enter The Elixir Well
Now, you just need to descend the staircase until you reach the bottom. It’s important to be careful though;while there are no enemies here, it’s very easy to fall off the edge and die.Move quickly while sticking in the center of the stairway.
At the bottom, you will be in a clearing with an attached pathway. At this point, you shouldmake sure you have your ranged weapon handy in your toolbar.Nearby, be sure to have thepowder balls(these are bombs). Finally, eat some food, recover any lost health, and head in.

How To Defeat The Fell Thunderbrute
Inside this area, you will find theShroud Root guarded by a Fell Thunderbrute. This is the first ‘boss’ that you will most likely face but, thankfully, the fight is fairly easy.If you have bombs on hand, you can toss two or three at the brute, which will deal huge chunks of damage.
If you don’t have any bombs, it’s okay; this is where a ranged weapon comes in handy.Runfrom the Fell Thunderbrute andaim back at it.This iseasy with the wand,as the weapon targets the Fell Thunderbrute without any aiming needed.

The Fell Thunderbrute has a powerful axe attack, but if you ate food beforehand, this should not be enough to kill you.Continue kiting the Thunderbrute around the area until it dies. Don’t forget toloot the Thunderbrute’s corpse! You will receive the following items.
Destroy The Shroud Root
Now, you just have one more task. With your axe in hand, destroy the Shroud Root! This will cause the Shroud in the area to vanish, removing the counter at the top of your screen. With that, you are done. You can venture back to the top of the Elixir Well, orteleport home straight from this underground location.
As a reward for destroying the Elixir Well, you will get the loot mentioned above,as well as XP and a new Skill Point.Don’t forget to interact with Oswald and your Flame Altar once you return home. Completing this quest willunlock several new ones that you can complete.
