Sometimes times are tough inMy Time At Sandrock, but that doesn’t mean that the people of Sandrock don’t know how to have a good time or how to turn a bad situation into a good one. With the Moisture Farm damaged, the food stocks of Sandrock are low, and some have more than others.

To help out, Owen and Matilda are putting on a Food Drive, and in return for donations, anyone can get signed up for the accompanying competition, the Dance-Off. In this guide, we’ll show you how to put your rhythm and dancing skills to use to win the competition and help out the town at the same time.

How To Unlock The Dance-Off

The Dance-Off competition becomes availableafter the Moisture Farm has been damaged. While it’s still broken,attending one of the weekly Fireside Missions on Sundaywill bring with it news offood issuesfor the town of Sandrock.

Owen will suggest acombination of food drive and competition, and Matilda will further refine the idea into theDance-Off.

Forthree days, a Food Drive will be available for all members of the town todonate food to, anddonating at least one item of foodwillsign you upfor the competition.

The easiest food items to acquire areSandberries, which aregathered from Sandberry Bushes,andAnt Honey, which is obtained fromdefeating Bumble Ants.

Both can be found throughoutthe desert outside Sandrock.

How To Win The Dance-Off

The Dance-Offlasts fortwo days, and on each of those days, itbegins at 2 pmin the afternoon.

When it starts, you’ll need to go to theBlue Moon Saloon’s stageandinteract with the countertopnext to it to enter.

At the counter, you canchoose between three difficulties: Easy, Normal, or Hard.

Your choice ofdifficulty will determinetheamount of inputs, theoverall speedof the song, theamount of Competition Badgesyou win, and how good youropponent’s performanceis.

Similar to various rhythm games, you’ll bematching your button or key inputsin timewith music.

Single input notesneed to betapped, whilelong input notesneed to beheld downuntil theinput comes by again, and correctly timing inputs will allow you tobuild up a combo.

Correct timing and achieving ahigh combo is the keyto a winning score, though achieving comboscan help offset any timing issuesyou may have.

The most effective way toearn plenty of Competition Badgesis placingnumber one in Normal, as it offers a decent amount of badges while still beingrelatively easyand not having the four to five inputs in a row Hard can have.

You canstill win placementon Hardif you hit a high combowith Perfects and Greats,even if you miss several long input notes.

Each performancein the Dance-Offtakes two hours, and itends at 8 pmin the evening, meaning you havefour chances timesto place each day.

Yourtime will still passif you quitout of a competition placement, so youaren’t able to reset individual placementsfor a better performance or a better set of notes to input.
