Vorkath was released intoOld School RuneScapealong with the “Dragon Slayer II” quest, and shortly after became one of the most killed bosses in the entire game due to its fantastic loot table. Averaging around 150,000 gp in loot per kill, hunting Vorkath has become an extremely profitable way for high-level players to earn gp in OSRS.

Due to its high-hitting Dragonfire, combined with unique movement mechanics and server stability, fighting Vorkath again after the quest can be a daunting task. But with the chance to earn nearly one million gp per hour, Vorkath is irresistible for players looking to make a decent profit.

Displaying Equipment And Inventory Tab With Optimal Gear To Defeat Vorkath

Elite Void armouris your best option as you’re able to quickly switch from Melee to Ranged DPS while still saving inventory spots for extra supplies. While Elite Void does not have the strongest defensive bonuses, its +12 percent accuracy and damage bonus for all combat styles make it the ideal gear to kill Vorkath.

The rest of your Ranged gear should include anVenator’s/Archer’s Ring, an Ava’s Device(the best one you have), aSalve amulet(since Vorkath is undead, it will provide you with extra damage and accuracy), andPegasian/Ranger/Blessed D’Hide Boots. A Rune Pouch with Dust Runes, Law Runes, and Chaos Runesis highly recommended, as you can simultaneously cast “Crumble Undead” and “Teleport to House” using runes in a single inventory slot.

As for your weapon, aToxic Blowpipeor aDragon Hunter Crossbowwill be your best choice for this kind of set up. The Toxic Blowpipe is a quick-hitting Ranged weapon that has a special attack that can heal you, making this an excellent choice. However, if you are able to obtain a Dragon Hunter Crossbow, that will be superior, as it gives an additional +30 percent Ranged attack and +25 percent Ranged damage when fighting against dragons.

The DHC is also one-handed, so you may bring aDragonfire Ward, a Twisted Buckler, or a Book of Lawfor extra defense and bonus Ranged attack. Since you are using Elite Void to switch to Melee when the time comes, it is recommended to bring either aBandos Godsword or a Dragon Warhammer. Both of them have a special attack that lowers a target’s Defense level, which willdrasticallyimprove how well you can attack Vorkath.

Player Switching To Melee Gear And Drinking Potions Before Fighting Vorkath

Other than your gear, bring anExtended Super Antifire Potion, Antivenom++, Super Combat Potion, Ranged Potion, and two Super Restores/Prayer Potions, while filling the rest of your inventory withhigh-healing food (Sharks, Karambwans, Manta Rays, etc.).

Since Vorkath is a draconic creature that uses dragonfire, bringing a Super Antifire Potion will allow you to resist its dragonfire attacks while not having to worry about bringing an Antidragon shield (paired with the “Protect from Magic” prayer, and you are almost immune to all dragonfire).

Player Dodging Acid Attack During Vorkath Fight

Vorkath also has a breath that will inflict venom on you, so it is important to bring an Antivenom to negate as much damage as possible from it. A Super Combat Potion and Ranged Potion are used to increase your stats both when commencing your special attack with a Bandos Godsword/Dragon Warhammer, and while fighting Vorkath with a Toxic Blowpipe.

Depending on your Prayer level, theamount of Super Restores or Prayer Potions you will need may vary, but as long as you can restore your Prayer Points enough to last two or three fights a trip, you should be fine.

How To Find Vorkath

While there are many ways to reach Vorkath between fights, you should considerbuilding a POH portal to Waterbirth Island. This way you only need to bring runes for the “Teleport to House” spell to head to Vorkath and back; teleport to your POH, use the portal to reach Waterbirth Island, thentake the boats to Rellekka and Ungael.

How To Defeat Vorkath

Once you reach Vorkath, equip your Melee gear, along with yourBandos Godsword or Dragon Warhammer(depending on which one you brought). Also, ensure that yourSlayer’s Staff has “Crumble Undead” set as its auto-cast spell.

When you are ready, drink a dose of each potion and activate both your Special Attack and Quick Prayers (which should be set to “Protect from Magic” and “Rigour”), although you may quickly activate “Piety” during your special attacks if you are comfortable enough.

Your first hits with your BGS/DWH are crucial. If you do not hit high enough, Vorkath’s stats may not be drained enough, and you could be in for a long fight. If you don’t hit high enough, it is recommended to teleport out, recharge your special attack bar using your POH rejuvenation pool (or the one in the Freon Enclave), return and start over.

Once you land good special attacks, quickly step back and equip your Ranged gear, making sure “Protect from Magic” and “Rigour” are still activated.

Among the different regular attacks it can do, there arefour different special attacksyou need to look out for:

Attack Descriptions & How To Counter Them

Ice Attack w/ Spawn

Vorkath freezes you and deploys a Zombified Spawn. Quickly switch to your Slayer Staff and cast “Crumble Undead” on it before it reaches you.

“Crumble Undead” will automatically kill it, otherwise it will do massive damage if it touches you.

Mortar Dragonfire

Vorkath fires an orange mortar-like dragonfire towards you. Move two or more tiles away before they land, or you will suffer massive damage.

Acid Pool w/ Rapid Attack

Vorkath spits dozens of acid spots around you, followed by a rapid-dragonfire attack. Turn your run-off and calmly walk between the spots where there isn’t acid.

Each time you step on acid, it will both hurt you and heal Vorkath. Also, if you stop moving, Vorkath’s rapid attack will damage you, sodon’t stop moving.

Prayer Disable Attack

A purple ball of dragonfire will attack you, deactivating your prayers. Simply click on your “Quick Prayers” to reactivate them before Vorkath attacks you again. While there are quite a few things to keep track of, eventually you will learn what to do for each attack through muscle-memory. Stay calm and keep an eye on how long your potion doses are active, taking a sip once they get low.

Once Vorkath is dead, it will fall unconscious again and drop its loot in front of you to grab.If you have enough supplies and feel confident, you may “Poke” Vorkath to fight it again, or teleport out to resupply and return for another kill.

Vorkath Rewards

Vorkath sports an impressive loot table that will keep you coming back for greater rewards.Averaging around 150,000 gp per kill, Vorkath drops loot that is both useful for Ironman accounts and valuable for players looking to make a profit. The highlights of Vorkath’s loot table include:
