Not every game needs an amorphous blob-entity that creeps towards you endlessly, but many games are improved by its presence, includingLethal Company. Sometimes, you’ll find yourself hearing a strange noise as you explore a moon’s facility, and it isn’t a steam valve, footsteps, or a Hoarding Bug looking for scrap.
Before you know it, a Hygrodere comes crawling around the corner, inching closer and closer. They aren’t as dangerous as some entities, but Hygrodere’s can still be a pain, especially if there’s more than one of them. If you don’t feel like being consumed by a slime being, we’ll show you to avoid it.

How To Deal With Hygroderes
Hydrogeres are a unique enemy, and like thecreepy, particular Coil-Heads,Hydrogeres can’t be killed– they can only be avoided, ordistracted by the use of certain equipment. These blobs can either be an annoyance to work around if they’re alone, butsurprisingly dangerous if they’re blocking off parts of a facility or if you’re dealing with other enemies besides them.
Don’t bother hitting Hygrodere’swith a Shovel or other weapon, as it justangers them and makes them speed up.

The first sign that a Hygrodere is around isa slow bubbling noise that you’ll be able to hear through walls and floors, depending on how close it is to you. If you spot one, and it’s coming after you, there are a few ways to handle it:
If aHygrodere losessightof you long enough,it will lose aggro, andeither leave for another areaorpick another teammatein its range to target.
How To Distract A Hygrodere
If you don’t want to deal with a slow-moving blob endlessly chasing you, there’s another strategy that involvesusing a Boombox, but it can be riskysince the Boombox attracts more than just Hygroderes. Once you’ve found the Hydrogere, and it’s following you, just find a spot for it to stay where it’s out of the way, such as in the corner of a storage room, or a section of a factory room you don’t plan to traverse often.
Hygroderes willspeed up significantlyif youturn a Boombox on and hold it, so you can turn one on andhave someone lead the Hygrodere awayto a more convenient location.
Get it where you want, thenturn the Boombox on, place it down, and make sure you’ve got plenty ofroom to get past the Hygrodere without taking damage. The Hygrodere will go over to the Boombox, climb on top of it, andwon’t leave the spot as long as the Boombox stays on.
