Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawnis an expansion for the base version of the game, following the Party you’ve grown to love a year after the events of its conclusion. Despite their attempts to bring peace to both Dahnans and Renan, a strange threat remains at large, trapped within Mausoleums, forcing them to take action by seeking them out, defeating them, and sealing off the Mausoleums.

The first Mausoleum you will get to explore is found in Mahag Saar, which hosts Nimus Pandemonium, the first mandatory boss encounter of the Beyond the Dawn expansion. While not overly complex, this encounter can prove challenging if you are knocking the dust off that accumulated since launch or are a newcomer altogether.

How To Beat Nimus Pandemonium In Tales Of Arise: Beyond The Dawn

Being the first boss encounter of the Beyond the Dawn expansion in Tales of Arise,Nimus Pandemoniumisn’t going to be an insurmountable beast by any means, but it stillpossesses some extremely powerful attacks that can wipe your entire Partyif you aren’t adequately prepared.

For this encounter, westrongly urge you to have at least one full-party Healerpresent who canconstantly replenish your Party’s HPwhen it gets low andeven resurrect them if they happen to fallin battle. We feelShionne is the best for this fight, butDohalim will work as wellif you prefer him, so long as either of them is an active party member.

Our Party consisted ofAlphen, Shionne, Rinwell, and Law.But you caneasily swap Law out for Dohalimif you prefer extra Magical Damage and Healingcapabilities.Kisara could also be of useif you find yourself needing theextra Defensive buffs and protections.

We alsostrongly recommend controlling Alphenfor this entire encounter and having thefollowing Artes equippedin your Arte Set:Lightning Thrust, Stardust, and Rising Falcon. These Artes areeasily spammableduring the whole battle and willdeal tons of damageas a result!

Before initiating the encounter, please ensure Shionne or Dohalim have Healing Artes equipped. Since Nimus Pandemonium isn’t Weak or Resistant to any one Element, most attack Artes and combinations should be fine for the most part!

Phase One: Lightning Thrust > Stardust > Rising Falcon Spam

As touched on above, you will bespamming the following Arte Combothroughout the entire encounter:Lightning Thrust > Stardust > Rising Falcon. The Nimus Pandemonium is an oddly shaped monster, with its weak spots positioned high above the ground in its four red faces.

Lightning Thrustwillsend Alphen high into the air with a forceful strike, enabling him to perform hisStardustaction, whichcan be spammed several timesbefore ultimatelyconcludingwithRising Falcon, which sends himhurtling back to the groundwith tremendous force.

Phase One: Nimus Pandemonium - Charge, Leap, And Slam

When spamming your combo, minding your own business, there isone attackof Nimus Pandemonium’syou should be wary of in the first phase, and that’s itsCharge, Leap, and Slam combo.

This combo of Nimus' has itgather a large amount of energy at the base of its body before suddenly leaping high into the air, causing it to disappear from your view. After a brief pause,Nimus will come crashing down with tremendous force, dealing severe damageto anyone in the area.

To avoid this action, eithermove away from the blast radius or time your Evade(R2 PlayStation or RT Xbox)just as it lands to land a Perfect Dodge, enabling you tofollow up with a devastating slash.

If thishits you in the first phase, you should be fine, as Shionne or Dohalim will top your health up,but you should try dodging this as it gets much, much worse in the second phase.

Phase One: Boost Strike Into Phase Two

Everything above is the general flow and strategy of the first phase, which ends after youshave Nimus Pandemonium’s health down halfway. This will prompt you toperform a devastating Boost Strike, taking you directly into the second phase!

Phase Two: Lightning Thust > Stardust > Rising Falcon Spam (Part Two)

Once thesecond phasebegins, you will still be relying on your trustyLightning Thrust > Stardust > Rising Falcon Arte Comboand will bespamming it just as much as the first phase. At least in the early goings.

Phase Two: Nimus Pandemonium - Charge, Leap, And Slam (Part Two)

Keepspamming your combountilNimus begins building energyagain beforesuddenly leaping out of frameonce more, causing it tocome hurtling into the ground with tremendous force and power.Like before, this can beevaded by timing a Perfect Evadeor byrunning far away from its blast radius.

Unlike last time, however, this combo of Nimus' will hurt. A lot.Much more than last time.Getting hit by this attack dead on can kill most of your Party,so be sure to have aHealing Circle upor be prepared toland a Perfect Evade. You do not want to get hit by this attack.

Phase Two: Nimus Pandemonium - Rapid Slams

Immediately followingthe second Slam Combo,Nimus will unleash a barrage of Rapid Slams, dealing tremendous damage quickly. Thisattack is brutal to deal with, especially if you aren’t expecting it.

Youcan run behind Nimus here and keep running away from them to avoid taking damage,or you cantest your luckandland several Perfect Evades here to get many powerful follow-up strikesof your own in. Either method works, butplease verify a Healing Circle is up,or the rest of your Party might get killed here.

Phase Two: Nimus Pandemonium - Devastating AoE

After performing its Rapid Slams, you canlaunch into another series of your broken Arte Combountil youchip away Nimus' health down to the last nodeon its life bar, causing it tochange from yellow to red.Once you’re here, prepare for its Devastating AoEattack.

This attack hasNimus conjure a potent AoE around itselfthat’s telegraphed with athick cloud of deep reds and pinks that swirl around Nimus, dealing mass amount of damageto anyone trapped inside.

When yousee this AoE begin getting cast, run away from Nimusand ensure Shionne or Dohalim have aHealing Circle or something equivalent up and patiently wait insideuntil the action finishes.

Youmay have to assume control of Law hereif he’s in your Party, as hewill likely keep attacking Nimus and will die…Like he did for us. Youcould also set your Party Strategyto ‘Focus Healing’ before this encounter, tohave your Party and Healer rely on Healing Arts, having them showa bit more patiencefor moments like this.

Phase Two: Nimus Pandemonium - Charge And Slam

Following this, you arefree to launch into another spam-heavy Arte Combospree like beforeuntil you see Nimus begin channeling energy at the base of its bodyagain. This time, however, Nimuswon’t leap high into the air like the previous two times.Instead, it will justviolently slam its lower body downwardwith tremendous force.

While this can trip you up when you expect it to jump, it will bedodged like the previous slams. You caneither run away from Nimus or time a Perfect Evade!

Phase Two: Nimus Pandemonium - Rapid Slams (Part Two)

Immediately followingthat attack, Nimus willlaunch into another series of Rapid Slams.Again, like last time, you canavoid this attack by running behind it and continuing to run past it,or you cantime several Perfect Evadesto maximize your damage.

Once more, please ensure you have a Healing Circle or something similar upfor you and your Party Members, as this can annihilate most of your Party if they get caught in the rampage!

Phase Two: Nimus Pandemonium - Devastating AoE (Part Two)

From here, you cancontinue your onslaught until you almost deplete Nimus' health.Once this happens, Nimus willbegin conjuring a thick blue AoE around itself, signaling you to go all out.

Unlike the previous AoEattack, this onedoesn’t deal damage until it finishes being cast,so you cancontinue attacking Nimus with everything you gotuntil you defeat it!

Phase Two: Nimus Pandemonium - Boost Strike For The Win

Lastly, withNimus' health fully depleted, you canperform a final Boost Striketo deliver the finishing blow, ending the encounter! Congrats!
