Ever since the start ofPrince Of Persia: The Lost Crown, Menolias has been one of the major side characters as he helps Sargon in the early battle. Not to mention the fact that the only other weapon you’ll get during your playthrough is his Bow and Chakram.
With all that in mind, it’s quite hard to imagine that you’ll end up fighting this character at some point. However, you still have to prepare for it in the Upper City area since this battle will give you nightmares if you aren’t ready.

Menolias Attack Pattern
Remember all those puzzles you solved and enemies you defeated using the weapons wielded by Menolias himself? It’s almost like you’ll have to pay the price for all that in this fight. Menolias has a range of swift attacks, and it’s important to know how they work if you want to have a chance in this fight:
First Phase
Red Arrow
This is the most common attack you’ll see from Menolias. In it, he shoots a giant red arrow thateither goes straight in your direction or curves through the ground. The arrow’s trajectory depends on the positioning of the attack.
If you see a brief target on Sargon, the arrow will go straight through your location. However, if Menolias shoots the arrow in the air,it’ll reach the ground and curve back out.

Area Denial
You’ll actively see Menolias jump through the battlefield andspawn a bunch of star-shaped items on it. These items will slowly start moving toward Sargon, and if you hit any, you’ll take damage.
However, you canuse these items against Menoliasby using the Dimensional Claw ability.

Yellow Arrows
Sometimes, Menolias will jump in the air and shoot abunch of yellow arrows toward Sargon in an arc shape. You can parry these arrows, and once parried, they have a chance of landing back on Menolias.
In the second phase, he shoots two rounds of these arrows, andyou’ll have to parry them in quick succession.

Arrow Rain
This attack triggers when Menolias reaches roughly 70 percent HP,and it’s a signal of the phase change. After a small cutscene, multiple arrows will start falling from the sky at random locations.
You’ll only take damage if you hit the tip of these arrows, souse all your movement abilities to dodge as many as possible.

Second Phase
Counter Attack
In the second phase, Menolias can launch counter-attacks if you attack him at certain times. This happens if he’s attacked whenhe’s charging with a yellow aura or if he gets close to you when his Chakram is out.
This counterattack massively decreases your health temporarily, but it slowly goes back up. However, you’d still want to avoid triggering theseas much as possible.

Chakram Attack
Just like you may throw your Chakram out and it returns to you, Menoliasdoes the same to his Chakram in this attack. He throws it out to your location and it goes back through the battlefield at a height.
How To Beat Menolias
When you fight Menolias for the first few times, you’ll be thoroughly overwhelmed because of his constant movement and barrage of attacks. Youcan’t win this fight in a traditional melee manner, so here are a few important tips you’ll need:
After defeating Menolias, you’ll acquire theRashnu’s Judgment Athra Surge, upgrade to your Chakram, and a Soma Tree Petal. You can also awaken the guardian nearby once the fight is over.
