Where Do You Craft Weapons?
Once you progress the story through chapter two,the barkeep from Revolve Bar will send you over to a friendof his – Julie – to upgrade your arsenal before you tackle the more difficult challenges.
Head over toJulie’s Gearworks on Hula Avenue, just to the east of Resort Boulevard for your introduction to your resident crafting specialist, Julie, and her humble shop.

There is more than one location for Julie’s Gearworks, so be sure tocheck out the Anaconda ShoppingCenter if you aren’t near theoriginal spot south of Revolve Bar.
After fending off an unhappy “customer,” Julie will thank you for your assistance and open her crafting business to you. She only offers these services on recommendation, as her auto repair shop serves as a front for her true talents.

Julie’s Gearworks offersthree major servicesyou’ll want to make use of:
To crafta weapon, take note of these factors:
If you may afford the costs and have met the requirements, then you can begin crafting.
You can also invest in Julie’s Gearworks, to improve the Facility Rank which is covered in the “How Do You Expand Your Crafting Options?“section below.

You’ll be able to utilize your upgrade level for your current weapon if you decide to switch to something else during the game, sodon’t be afraid to invest resources in weaponsthat may eventually be replaced.
How Do You Upgrade Weapons?
To upgrade weapons, simplybring Julie an upgradeable weaponthat didn’t have an elemental damage type from the start.
Upgrading a weapon willimprove all of its stats, including the base attack damage of the weapon as well as the damage you inflict with skills while the weapon is equipped.

You may need to return after progressing the story far enough, as certain weapons or materials may not be available upon your first visit.
The Hero’s Bat gains elemental Lightning damage once Julie improves it, and other weapons can follow a similar path.

Each weapon requires one of five different types ofupgrade itemsthat correspond to the material the weapon is made of.
For example, the Hero’s Bat can accept Iron fragments, Iron chunks, Iron Ore, Pure Steel, or Lustrous Steel.

Each upgrade item provides a boost to the weapon, getting it closer to reaching the next rank.
Higher-tier upgrade items give a greater boost and require fewer than the lower-tier options.
Once youupgrade your weapon enough, you can addelemental damage or modifiers, calledBrands.
Adding Brands
Brands function similarly to Sealsfrom Ishin, in that they offer damage-type modifications and other rare bonuses.
To add a Brand, you must level up your weaponto the corresponding level found at the bottom of the weapon’s description.

Brands that improve your chance ofinflicting status conditions are exceptionally valuable, given that many attacks now offer the chance to apply your equipped weapon’s effect.
Unlike Ishin, you’re able to findseveral Brands offered by Juliewithout needing to farm or otherwise track them down.
How Do You Expand Your Crafting Options?
To expand your crafting and upgrade options, you need to level up Julie’s Facility Rank by exchanging materials, buying upgrades, or investing cash directly.
While passively using Julie’s services offers smaller Facility Rank bumps, investing cash in Julie’s studies is the best wayto level up the Facility Rank.
Cash is very hard to come by at first, but once youunlock Dondoko Island in chapter six, you’ll have a more steady source of income to put towards Julie’s textbooks and level up the Facility Rank.
