Chef, the designated robot chef of the Survivors in Risk of Rain Returns, has a secret skin with a fairly unique unlock requirement. If you want to unlock this skin for yourself, you’ve come to the right place. Below, we’ll take a look at everything you need to do to unlock the Chef’s secret skin.
How To Get Chef’s Secret Skin
To unlock Chef’s secret skin, you need toCook Acrid.
While this may seem like an open-ended prompt, there’s only one way to complete this objective. First, you’ll need to haveChef’s alternate Special skill, Cook, unlocked. This skill can be unlocked by either completing the Providence Trial"The Right Ingredients"or bydefeating 3,000 enemies in total as Chef.
Either way, once you have the skill unlocked, select it when choosing your character before a run, then proceed like normal until thethird stage. Here, you are looking for the variant of theSunken Tombsstage that hasAcrid’s cageat thetop right.
This may take a few tries to get this stage variant. Tryunselecting the “New Stages” optionin the special rules during character selection to remove the new stage variants added with Returns.
Once you’ve found Acrid’s cage, you’ll need toproceed carefully. To successfully unlock Chef’s skin, you need todeal the finishing blow to Acrid by using Cook. This means you’ll want to carefully reduce Acrid’s health bar until around five to six percent remaining, then use Cook to deal the last remaining bit of health.
We recommendavoiding using Drones, as they can kill Acrid before you’re ready to use Cook.
If you successfully defeat Acrid using Cook, Chef’s secret skin will be automatically unlocked.
Chef’s Secret Skin - Consumption
The Chef’s secret skin, calledConsumption, paints the robochef a dark gray with red highlights, giving him an ominous vibe. This skin is perfect for an unfeeling robot that just cooked and ate a poisonous alien dog.
