Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3has made some major changes to how unlocks work. Beyond leveling your character, Armory Unlocks and Weekly Challenges serve as main sources of experimental attachment options, equipment, and even new weapons.
Weekly challenges serve as your main source of Aftermarket Parts in MW3, giving you additional customization options. If you want to convert your weapon to use new ammo types or fundamentally change its behavior, you’ll want to earn these exclusive attachments. This guide will explain how the weekly challenge system works, how to unlock these exclusive rewards, and showcase every reward you can earn from these weekly challenges.
What Are Weekly Challenges?
Weekly challenges are a core progression system in Modern Warfare 3 that unlocks new items and cosmetics.Some Aftermarket Part conversion kits, camos, and even entire weapons are tied to this challenge system, so it’s important that you complete them whenever possible. Strangely,this system has nothing to do with the daily challengesfound in the Multiplayer and MWZ lobby menus.
From the start menu, navigate to “Challenges” and select “Weekly” to view your current weekly challenge progress. You’ll find the weekly challenges categorized into sections, divided by each week during the current season.
Completing Weekly Challenges
Each week of the active season has ten unique challenges for you to complete. These challenges are evenly split between core Multiplayer and Modern Warfare Zombies (MWZ).Completing any five challenges that week will unlock the weekly reward. You can complete any combination of MP and MWZ challenges to earn the weekly reward; you don’t have to strictly play MP or Zombies.
Dedicated players can also earn a unique seasonal cosmetic from the weekly challenge system. Each week you complete will make progress towards an exclusive cosmetic reward.You must unlock every weekly challenge reward for the active season to earn this mastery cosmetic.For example, MW3’s preseason (Season 0) requires four weekly challenge completions to unlock the exclusive Golden River camo.
Weekly challenges persist until the end of the season,so you have more than a week to unlock a specific item.
Should the season end, any non-cosmetic items you missed will be obtainable through an in-game challenge orthe Armory System.
Season 0 Weekly Challenges And Rewards
MW3’s preseason has four sets of weekly challenges, most of which unlock Aftermarket Conversion Kits. The fourth weekly challenge unlocks the TAQ Eradicator LMG, andunlocking all four weekly challenge rewards will grant the Golden River camo.

Get 20 kills with a silenced recommended assault rifle.
Get 15 kills with an optic attachment installed onto a recommended assault rifle.
7,500 XP
10,000 XP
Get 200 kills in the medium or high threat zone.
Get 25 kills while moving with a recommended weapon.
Get 20 kills while aiming down sights with the DG-58 LSW.
Get 20 kills while aiming down sights with a recommended assault rifle.
Get 100 critical kills with a recommended assault rifle.
Get 125 kills with a recommended battle rifle while having 4+ perks active.
Kill 3 Big Bounty HVTs with a recommended battle rifle.
Get 10 consecutive kills without taking damage 10 times with a recommended weapon.
Get 15 point blank kills with a recommended SMG.
Get 5 melee kills with the gun-butt of a recommended SMG.
Get 20 kills with a recommended weapon.
Get 15 headshot kills with the JAK Raven Kit equipped to the MCW.
Get 5 double kills with the JAK Heretic Carbine Kit equipped to the MTZ-762
Get 20 kills with the Akimbo Brace attachment equipped to the WSP Swarm.
Get 15 point blank kills with the JAK Raven Kit equipped to the MCW.
Get 4 kills without dying 20 times with the Akimbo Brace attachment equipped to the WSP Swarm.
Get 150 kills with a rare (blue) rarity recommended weapon.
Get 100 critical kills with the JAK Raven Kit equipped on the MCW.
Get 150 kills with the JAK Heretic Carbine Kit equipped on a Pack-A-Punched MTZ-762.
Get 100 kills with the Akimbo Brace Stocks equipped on the WSP Swarm.
Get 150 kills with the JAK Raven Kit equipped on the MCW while Jugger-Nog is active.
Get 200 kills with the Akimbo Brace Stocks equipped to the WSP Swarm in the medium or high threat zone.
