While playingLords Of The Fallen, you’ll encounter numerous NPCs, and one of the earliest you’ll meet is the Iron Wayfarer, shortly after defeating the tutorial boss. This character has an enigmatic presence and doesn’t explicitly request your assistance; instead, he mainly provides lore about your lamp and Umbral.
You may have encountered the Iron Wayfarer in multiple locations as you advance through the game, but his quest remains hidden. This is because you may only complete his quest if you are pursuing the Umbral ending, as the final step is contingent on following this specific ending.
Where To Find The Iron Wayfarer
Abandoned Redcopse Location #1
After completing the tutorial area and defeating the tutorial boss,Holy Bulwark Otto, continue a bit further until you reach theRedcopse Village Entrance/Vestige of Hannelore.
Here, you’ll find theIron Wayfarer standing next to the Vestige.Interact with himand proceed to the next location.
Abandoned Redcopse Location #2
Continuing from the first location, move forward until you reachRedcopse Windmill/ the Vestige of Marco the Axe. Keep advancing until you reachthe first Umbral Flowerbedin the game,just beforePieta, She Of Blessed Renewal.
Next to the Umbral Flowerbed, you’ll find theIron Wayfarer standing. Be sure to talk to him andexhaust his dialogue options.
Forsaken Fen Location
The next location isForsaken Fen, and to get there, you must firstadvance through Pilgrim’s Perchanddefeat the Congregator of Flesh. Afterward, keep moving forward, and you’ll reachForsaken Fen/the Vestige of Valade.
From this point, continue progressing toobtain Vanguard Barros' Rosary. Eventually, you’ll come acrossthe Iron Wayfarer standing next to an Umbral Flowerbed. Be sure to interact with him.
Lower Calrath Location
Continue progressing through the game until you reachLower Calrath. Here, you’ll need todefeat the Infernal Enchantressand reach the second Vestige in the area, known asLower Calrath Alehouse/Vestige of Lydia the Numb Witch.
Exit the Vestige room byusing the balcony entrance on the opposite side of the Vestige, thendescend the ladder. Cross the bridge, andyou’ll find the Iron Wayfarer to your left. Interact with him and then he will move to the next location.
Upper Calrath Location #1
To locate the Iron Wayfarer in his next location, you need to firstreach Upper Calrath.
Progress through this location until you reachan open area with a large door leading to the beacon. Head towards the door, go up the stairs andturn to the right side. Follow this path until you reach a building. Inside the building,turn left, and there you’ll come across theIron Wayfarer standing in the middle of the road near a Stigma.
While you’re in this area, be sure not to missthe Noblewoman Set for the Tortured Prisoner quest.
Soulflay the Stigma to gather more information about his past, andmake sure to exhaust his dialogue options.
Upper Calrath Location #2
Before you proceed to his next location inUpper Calrath,you need to rest at a Vestigeto allow him to move on to the next spot.
You can use the Umbral Flowerbed near his current location to grow a Vestige and then rest.
After resting,head outside and take the left path. Follow this path until you reach an open area, and there you will findan entrance to a building on your right.
Inside this building, similar to the previous location,you’ll spot the Iron Wayfarer standing next to a Stigma. Soulflay the Stigma to learn more about his lore and interact with him.
Manse Of The Hallowed Brothers Location
The Iron Wayfarer’s final location is at theManse of the Hallowed Brothers.
To access this area, you need to go throughthe bell door located at Pilgrim’s Perch Bellroom/Vestige of Blind Agatha. However, you’ll requirethe Pilgrim’s Perch Keyto unlock it.
Once you make your way to the top, reachingManse Supply Pathway/Vestige of Ferrers the Charred, you will find the Iron Wayfarer standing at the cliff.
When youinteract with him in this location, he will reveal his intention to acquire the Rune of Adyr, hinting at the next step in his quest.
Obtain The Rune Of Adyr
The Rune of Adyr can be found at the Abbey of the Hallowed Sisters, and you will come across it during your progression in the game.

Once you have picked up the rune, and if you have followed the steps correctly,the Iron Wayfarer will join the battleagainst the Rapturous Huntress of the Dusk.
After defeating her,he will claim the rune for himself.
Defeat The Iron Wayfarer
The next step involvesdefeating the Iron Wayfarer, who can be foundat the entrance of Bramis Castle in Upper Calrath. However, you’ll notice that the door that leads there is blocked, and you’ll need to take a detour.
From the Vestige at Skyrest, if youmake your way back to where you fought Pieta and climb the stairs, you’ll come acrossanother Stigma of the Iron Wayfarer.Soulflay this Stigma, and thenenter the door on the left. Follow this path, and it will lead you back to Upper Calrath.
As soon as you step through the large door leading to Bramis Castle,the boss fight against the Iron Wayfarer will be triggered.
After successfully defeating him,he will drop the Rune of Adyrhe took. This leads to the final step of his quest.
Completing The Iron Wayfarer Quest
Now, we’ve reached the part where the Umbral ending process is required.
As one of the steps to achieve this ending,you will obtain the Withered Rune of Adyr. With this item, you need to use it on the Iron Wayfarer to conclude his quest.

To proceed, make your way to thefirst Vestige of theFief of the Chill Curseandclimb up the two laddersthere to reach the top. This will take you toa snowy roadthat you shouldfollow to its end. There, you’ll finda ladder to your leftthat you can climb.
After that,enter Umbral realm, and you will spot theIron Wayfarer standing at the edge. Interact with him, and thenuse the Withered Rune of Adyr. This will result in his demise, and he will drop a loot containing the following items:
