Gathering materials for new armor sets and weapons is one of your main goals inMonster Hunter World. As you explore more of the areas of the New World and discover new materials, you’ll be able to construct new camps, tools, and other useful items to help you on your hunts.
As you explore the New World, you may come across large wyvern nests. Interacting with these will reward you with a Wyvern Egg, but this item functions very differently than others in the game. Below, we’ll take a look at everything you need to know about Wyvern Eggs, including where they come from, how to deliver them, and why you’d want to.
How To Find And Deliver Wyvern Eggs
Wyvern Eggs are found in nests in certain areas of theAncient ForestandWildspire Wastes. Interacting with this nest will have you pick up a Wyvern Egg, which must then becarried back to campto be considered delivered. While carrying the egg, certainactions will become unavailable, and you’llmove much slower.
When carrying a Wyvern Egg, youwon’t be able to dodge or crawl, and getting knocked over will have youdrop the egg. You can stillsprintandclimb ledges, although you will do these things very slowly.
AMonster’s roarwill also cause you todrop the egg.
If you plan on delivering a Wyvern Egg, we recommend getting thePro Transporterskill, available from theKulu Vambraces. This skill will make youmove faster while transporting a Wyvern Egg.
Most likely, the first quest where you’ll encounter Wyvern Eggs isGettin' Yolked in the Forest. To complete this quest, you need to deliver two Wyvern Eggs to the camp. There are several routes you can take to deliver these eggs, but keep in mind that if Rathian spots you and initiates combat with a roar, you’ll drop the egg and have to start over.
We recommendhunting the Rathian first, which will make delivering the Wyvern Eggs much easier.
Wyvern Egg Rewards
If you’re just delivering Wyvern Eggs to complete Gettin' Yolked in the Forest, you’ll unlock theWyvern Egg ingredient at the canteen. Otherwise, delivering Wyvern Eggs rewards you with aSteel Egg, which can be sold for a bit of extra Zenny.
Considering there are much easier ways to make Zenny, we don’t recommend taking the time to deliver Wyvern Eggs, unless you absolutely have to, like for the Gettin' Yolked in the Forest quest.
