The Trackers Alliance inStarfieldis a group of bounty hunters who roam around the settled systems, hunting for criminals. Their job is to bring the criminals to justice, and the respective factions pay them handsomely for doing so.

But, when a criminal’s bounty has been paid or canceled, those folks should be left alone, right? Unfortunately, some bounty hunters don’t agree and have decided to haunt the ex-convicts at the Eleos Retreat. Exorcism is the third quest for the Eleos Retreat, where you will need to find a way to exorcize these rogue bounty hunters before they do too much damage.

Starfield: Talking to the Retreat group about the Trackers. Left is Sloan, right is Greg.

How To Start Exorcism Quest

The Exorcism questbegins by finishing the previous quest,Ghost Hunt.

At the end of Ghost Hunt,Sloan asks you to act as an emissaryon their behalf, as she believes the Trackers are more likely to listen to you.

Your job is to go back to the abandoned outpost toconfront the trackersand find a way to make themleave the Eleos Retreat alone.

Starfield: from left to right: Sloan, Greg, Monika, Nevan

Optional Objective: Ask The Staff How To Deal With The Trackers

Before you leave, you have anoptional objective. You can ask each of the staff membershow they think you should deal with the trackers.

This will helplay out your options for youbefore you even go talk to the trackers.

Starfield: Beginning negotiations with the Tracker agent

She suggests you take thenon-violent approachand talk to them.

Greg

He would prefer that you ensure the trackers cannever come back again.

Monika

She believes telling them they’re not tough, just a bunch of bullies, should be enough to persuade them.

Nevan

Recommendspaying off the Trackersand even donates 2,500 credits to do just that.

Should You Persuade, Pay, Or Kill The Trackers?

Go back to theabandoned outpostand sit down on the couch towait for the Trackersto show up.

Once they arrive, you havethree optionson how to deal with the trackers:

Starfield: Fighting the two Trackers

How To Persuade The Trackers To Leave

When your conversation with the trackers begins, you’ll have the option to use yourpersuasion skillsto get them to leave.

Of the three options, this one is going to have thebest outcome. There’ll beno bloodshed, and you get tokeep the creditsthat Nevan gave you.

Starfield: Standing in front of Sloan in Eleos Retreat building

If you are successful, the trackers will leave, and you’re free to go report back to Sloan.

Persuading the trackers will work best if yourPersuasion skill is at least level two.We also recommendsaving your gamebefore the conversation, just in case you make a mistake.

How To Pay The Trackers To Leave

If you’d rather usemoney as a persuasion tactic, select the option “How much is it going to cost to get you to leave the Retreat alone?”. Then, offer them 20,000 credits.

They will accept and leave, and you’re able to head back to Sloan.

Before offering the 20,000 credits, you can still change your mindand either attempt to persuade them or kill them.

How To Kill The Trackers

You’ll have a few chances to attack and kill the trackers throughout this interaction:

No matter how it happens, these two will be easy targets. Loot their bodies of any credits or gear, then head back toSloanandtell her what happened.

Killing the trackersdoesn’t change your quest reward, nor does it negatively affect the outcome of the quest. Sloan will just simply say she wishes it hadn’t come to that, but she won’t be angry.

Tell Sloan What Happened With The Trackers

Go back to the Retreat andSloan will be waiting for you inside. Tell her what happened with the trackers (whether you killed them or you made them leave).

She’ll give you your reward of afew thousand credits and 100 XP, then she’ll tell you thatNevan wants to talk to you, which will trigger the next quest:Peacemaker.
