Sometimes the people of Sandrock don’t have the latest technology inMy Time At Sandrock, and not for lack of want. The desert landscape makes living harsh, and it often leaves the people of Sandrock without as much money as other cities.
Amirah wants to use the latest ceramics technology after the Mysterious Man’s insulted her and her skills, but a new kiln is not only costly, but difficult to build as well. It’s up to you as a Builder and a friend to help Amirah out and get her the Electric Kiln she needs to make pottery-making a lot less of a hassle.
How To Unlock Trial By Kiln
Trial By Kiln becomes available as a side mission once you’ve reached at least theBuddy level of friendshipor higherwith Amirah, and you alsocan’t be in a romantic relationship with Arvio or Owenat the time of this quest.
When the quest can be triggered,approach Amirah’s home and shop, and you’ll run into Arvio trying toconvince the Mysterious Manto buy some of Amirah’s pottery.
During this quest, the Mysterious Manappears earlier and stays in town longer than usual, so you can take advantage of this andget extra time to buy useful items and recipesfrom him, like the recipe for theVintage Pistol.
To Arvio’s dismay and Amirah’s anger, the Mysterious Man isextremely critical of Amirah’s potteryand refuses to buy any, citing that it’s basic, and she ought touse a better kilnto make it.
Amirahcites a lack of moneyand asks the Mysterious Man to provide either a better kiln orprovide her with a diagramfor one to be built.
You’ll get yourfirst dialogue optionhere, and saying Amirah has thebest pottery in the Free Citieswill get youthree Relationship PointswithAmirah, andtwo with Arvio.
The Mysterious Man willask for a price of 5,000 Golsfor the diagram, then leave Amirah and Arvio to make the decision. They’ve only got3,000 Golsin their savings, and from here you’ll getanother dialogue choice.
If youagree to pay the difference, you’ll lose 2,000 Gols butgain five Relationship Pointswith both of them, whileanswering about Owen or outright refusinggains youno extra relationship points.
Whichever you decide, Amirah will say she’llget the diagram somehow, and the quest will officially be added to your mission log.
How To Build The Electric Kiln
Afterseven in-game days, you’ll get aletter in your mailfrom Amirah containing the diagram for the Electric Kiln, and either a thank-you message or a message saying she got the money from Owen, depending on your choices.
To make the Electric Kiln, you’ll needfive materials: a Condenser, a Bloodstone Core, Simple Circuits, Hardwood Planks, and Bronze Pipes.

Reward whencompleting The Breach Hazardous Ruins, or whencommissioning a dungeon dive to The Breach.
Crafted fromBloodstones and Clayat anIntermediate Worktable.
Crafted fromBronze Barsat aGrinder.
Once you’ve got the Electric Kiln,head to Amirah’s houseandinstall the kilnin the open area a few steps right of her home.
Amirah will thank you for helping out, and you’ll get theoffer to stay and make potterywith her for a time, which gives youone extra Relationship Point, as well as an option toexpress romantic interestif youanswer that you’d love to.
Amirah will express some worry about the machine, and you canget another Relationship Pointby saying thatshe can do it, and again byanswering that she was awesomelater in the dialogue.
After ashort cutscene with you and Amirahpainting pottery together and some more dialogue, you’ll complete the quest. For helping Amirah, you’ll get a reward of 1,000 Gols,20 Relationship Points with Amirah, 10 Relationship Points with Arvio, 1,250 Experience Points, and35 Workshop Reputation.
