The word “ambrosia” is likely to conjure up images of amorphous fruity fluff, but the dish takes on a slightly different form in the wild world of Sims 4.This somewhat savory-looking food is a supernatural delicacy that offers benefits to Sims both living and dead.Ambrosia extends the life of living Sims by returning them to the beginning of their current life stage, but the dish is more commonly used for resurrecting dearly departed Sims to their living forms.

That’s right —commanding a ghost Sim to eat ambrosia will promptly resurrect them, returning the Sim to the start of the life stage they died in. While there are many ways to bring a Sim back to life, ambrosia has proven itself to be a reliable method of resurrection that’s accessible to any player without having to purchase downloadable content.

How To Cook Ambrosia In The Sims 4

You won’t be able to cook ambrosia with your typical pantry staples; the ingredients needed for this dish are a bit unconventional. You’ll need to acquire thedeath flower, an angelfish, and a potion of youthto bring your Sim back to life.

How To Grow A Death Flower

Death flowershave been a part of the Sims universe sinceThe Sims 3, but the strange bloom became even rarer in the latest installment of the franchise. In Sims 4,death flowers are obtained by completing three different grafts in the garden, as seen in the table below.

ThePotion of Youthis the easiest ingredient to acquire for ambrosia. The potion can be convenientlypurchased from the Rewards Store with 1,500 Satisfaction points.

If you don’t quite have that much squirreled away, you may easilybuild up your Satisfaction pointsby completing your Sim’s whims or aspiration tasks.

Where To Catch An Angelfish

Angelfish are a rare catch in the world of Sims 4, but determined fishermen are bound to snag one eventually. Trying to catch an angelfish can be a tedious process, so you’ll want toboost your luck by using bait, frequenting popular spawn sites, and fishing when your Sim is focused. Frogs and bass are known to be a favorite of angelfish, so keep those types of bait stocked in your inventory as you fish.

You can access the Grotto by entering one of two abandoned mine entrances, but the boards blocking the opening will need to be removed by a Sim with level ten in the Handiness skill.

Before you grab your tackle box, make sure that the Sim you’re commanding to fish is proficient enough in theFishing skill —level three or higheris required for angelfish to start spawning for your Sim. How To Cook Ambrosia

Once you’ve gathered your ingredients, you can get in the kitchen! Direct one of your Sims to cook ambrosia by clicking the fridge and selecting ambrosia under the “Gourmet Cooking” section. Keep in mind that the Sim you command to cook will have to havemaxed out Cooking and Gourmet Cooking skills for the ambrosia recipe to be unlockedin the menu.

How To Use Ambrosia To Bring A Sim Back To Life

Once you’ve whipped up a batch of ambrosia, you’re ready to feed it to the ghost of your choosing. Wait for the ghost to show up on your lot or use the necrocall spell to summon them to the location of aSpellcaster(this action is only available with the Realm of Magic pack).

It’s much easier to get a ghost Sim to eat ambrosia if they’re your active Sim, so you may want toadd them to your household.Otherwise, you risk another Sim eating the ambrosia you worked so hard to make. Finally, serve the ghost Sim a plate of ambrosia and watch as they’remagically brought back from the dead!

Once resurrected, the Sim will start their second chance at life at the beginning of the life stage that they died during. This means that a Sim who died while elderly will still be elderly after coming back to life, so you may have to keep feeding them Potions of Youth to keep them from passing away so soon.

Unlike less reliable resurrection methods such as making a wish for life at the Wishing Well,ambrosia is guaranteed to reverse the Sim’s deathand return them to their fleshy form.

While ambrosia has proven itself to be a useful tool for those wishing to escape the cold hands of death,it isn’t the only way to bring your Sims back from the great beyond.
