As you progress through the main storyline, you’ll need to fight in the colosseum inDragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince. There’s no shying away from it either: to dethrone your father, you need a team of the best monsters around. What better way to obtain them than by getting them to fight other monsters?

Each colosseum rank you enter into will pit you against tougher and tougher monsters, and Rank E puts you to the test more than the prior ranks you’ve fought in. You’ll need to master team composition and bring with you powerful monsters if you want to overcome this new challenge.

Endor Colosseum E Rank Overview

Entry Fee: 100 Gold Coins

Like theother colosseumandmausoleum battles, you’ll have to fight three separate battles back to backagainst different Monster Wranglers' teams if you want to conquer Rank E.

Grinferno

Spiny Slime

The first two battles feature a lot of strong physical attackers, and in particular, ones likethe Rubble Slime and Clockwork Cuckoo will be the heaviest hitters.Battle Two also featuresthe tankiest team in all the colosseum and mausoleum stages so far, withhigh HP and high defenses.

Enemies are also nowcapable of entering a Frenzied Stateand, like if your monster gets one, they can getmultiple turns and do increased damage in it.

In the final battle, instead of introducing a Large-sized monster and its ability to attack multiple times in a turn, you’ll face the usualfour-monster team and their frequently used party-wide attacks.

How To Beat Endor Colosseum Rank E

Battle Two

Like the first battle, you’ll mainly be dealing with physical attackers, butall four of them have high HP and defenses. Having a monster that can lower enemy defenses, has a high Attack or Wisdom stat, or can inflict Poison, will also help to whittle away their HP.

TheClockwork Cuckoo is the main threat of the bunch, as it’s capable of inflicting upwards of 40 damage with a single Wind Sickle attack, and even more if a monster is weak to wind. It can quickly kill a monster if it focuses on it, so use the spells Buff or Kabuff if you have them, asthey can seriously reduce the damage you take.

Battle Three

As usual, battle three is intended to be the most difficult of them all asboth the Hell Niño and Grinferno come equipped with fire-element attacks, with Hell Niño frequently using the powerful Fire Breath (party-wide fire attack), while Grinferno opts for the Frizz spell (single target fire spell). Both of themcan do a lot of damage in one turn, so monsters who aren’t weak to Fire or can use Buff will do better at surviving their onslaught of attacks each turn.

While you can’t control your monsters directly, you caninfluence the moves they usebychanging their Tactics, and you canchange them each round. Switch it up as you need to handle dealing more damage, be more defensive, or heal your monsters.

TheSpiny Slime is mainly a physical attacker and comes with thenew Multislash attack(party-wide physical damage). It doesn’t do as much damage as its allies, but it can easily finish off low HP monsters, andattacking it with physical attackswill reflect a small portion of the damage.

The most dangerous enemy in the fight is the Airbagon, which can cast the Bang spell (party-wide explosive damage). With its relatively high attack,it can do high damage to even Explosion-resistant monstersand sometimes out-damages both the Hell Niño and Grinferno, soif it decides to spam the spell, it can easily finish off a weaker party.

Terrestria

Spring

It comes with Sizz (a useful AOE spell) and Dazzleflash (which lowers enemy accuracy). Even its regular attacks can do good damage, and it isn’t weak to Fire.

Circle of Temper, Naturia (Lower Eschelon)

Learns the always useful Heal spell, and if you invest it enough, you’ll get buff spells such as Buff and Insulate, which helps against Breath attacks. It’s also resistant to Bang.

Winter

It is resistant to both Fire and Explosion-element attacks, and its High HP helps it further. It also has powerful physical attacks like Helm Splitter (which can lower an enemy’s defense), and Slime Squisher, which does extra damage to Slime-based enemies.

Like Antguzzler, comes with a great physical attack, Attack Attacker (can lower an enemy’s attack), and it also learns Sandstorm (party-wide accuracy drop).

You can use Monster Synthesisto create monsters with agreater variety of skills andhigher stats, and it can let you obtain naturally stronger monsters or skills earlier. You can also use it tocreate improved versions of monstersyou already have.

If you’re synthesizing monsters, some useful Talents to put on your monsters include:

Sizz Afficionado

Vegandragora

Gives monsters access to Sizz, a very useful party-wise light element spell, and Dazzleflash for debuffing.

Bang Afficionado

Airbagon

Comes with Bang and Helm Splitter, giving a monster good party-wide and single-target attacks.

Defender

Komodo, Leery Lout

Good all-around skill set with Heal and Buff for healing and support, Attack Attacker to lower an enemy’s attack, and Dazzleflash for debuffing.

Prankster

Mischievous Mole

Packed with debuff skills and attacks such as Heart Breaker (can stun an enemy), Poison Attack (can poison an enemy), and Tongue Lashing (can lower an enemy’s defense).

Fortifier

Bongo Drongo

Has Heal, and several buffing spells such as Accerlerate, Buff, and Ping at lower levels.

Blusterer

Wing Slime, Stark Raven

Can buff allies with Accelerate or Acceleratle, and it also has Woosh for party-wide wind damage and Sandstorm for party-wide debuffing.

Graveheart

Skeleton, Ghost

Status-causing physical attacks like Poison Attack and Sleep Attacker, and party-wide status-causing spells like Sweet Breath.

To handle these fights, you’ll want your monsters to be between levels 12 and 14, regardless of whether they’ve been synthesized or not. This will help them have enough HP to take damagefrom enemies like the Clockwork Cuckoo and Airbagon.

You’ll also want tohave at least one dedicated healer who can ensure your monsters stay alive, either with Heal or Midheal if you’ve invested in their skill tree enough. Monsters capable of using status effect moves arealso fairly effective in preventing large amounts of damage in one turn.

If you’reaiming to debuff enemies with lowered stats or status effects, you’ll want themonster withhigh Wisdom, as the Wisdom stat effect oftenincreases the chances of the status ability hitting.
