For a series calledFinal Fantasy, they sure don’t seem to stop releasing new games. That’s a pretty tired joke, sure, but there really are so many Final Fantasy games. Even choosing which ones to put into this article was a struggle because it would just be endless word soup if I put them all in.
Now on to the real meat of this article - how long does it take to beat every Final Fantasy game? RPGs in general have a reputation for requiring a big time investment, but Final Fantasy stretches across so many genres, that it’s hard to keep track. So let’s break it all down, courtesy ofHow Long To Beat.

This article is only focusing on Final Fantasy games released for a dedicated console, so no mobile-exclusive games. Also, only games that can be reasonably completed, so no Chocobo racing games either.
How Long Does It Take To Beat Every Mainline Final Fantasy Game?
When it comes to the mainline entries in the series, you have no shortage of options. 16 numbered entries with literally none of them connected to the other. Any of them can be your starting point, but which exactly would be the easiest to get into, timewise? Let’s check the table below for answers.
Due to the nature of MMOs being somewhat endless,we’ve excluded both Final Fantasy 11 and 14.

As you can see, the Final Fantasy games are actually on the shorter end of the RPG commitment scale if all you’re looking for is a more concise adventure. They can absolutely skyrocket if you choose to get a taste of everything, but most don’t require intense grinding to complete the game anyway, so how much extra you do is up to you.
You would need a whopping489 hours just to complete the series, and atotal of 1,099 to 100 percent each and every one of them. That’s about a month and a half of non-stop play!
Of course, some of these mainline games also have dedicated sequels. Few (with the exception of The After Years) are anywhere near as long as their mainline counterparts, but they might be something you want to consider if you want to see everything the story of these respective games have to offer.

Just counting these mainline-related entries, we’re looking at another164.5 hours to just beat them, and a total of420.5 hours to complete them entirely. That’s almost half of what the whole series takes!
How Long Does It Take To Beat Every Spin-Off Final Fantasy Game?
Now no franchise worth its salt doesn’t have copious spin-offs that stretch the limits of what exactly defines what a franchise actually is. Final Fantasy is lucky enough because it gets away with such distinctly different mainline games that the spin-offs can be just about anything they want, from City Builders to Soulslikes. Because of that, the lengths vary wildly, as you can see below.
For the most part, the games shown below as in their latest release rather than their original forms.

Those sure are some varied numbers! Some of these games aren’t as readily available as their mainline counterparts, such as Tactics or Crystal Chronicles, but the majority are available on modern consoles and mobile. If any of them catch your fancy, you’ll find somewhere you may play them.
For this very selective group of spin-offs, you’re looking at398 hours to get the story finishedacross them all.To fully complete them all, then you’ll need to dedicate around 1,324.5 hours. Dissidia is really bloating those numbers, but it gives you an idea as to how much content is in these games.
