Destiny 2’sSeason of the Wish has added a new set of collectibles for players to find. Scattered across the Dreaming City are Starcats that you’re able to find, awarding you with Dreaming City weapons when interacted with. There’s one for each major location in the Dreaming City and Season of the Wish’s seasonal content.
These Starcats are similar to the Dreaming City cat statues, but you don’t need any specific items to interact with the Starcats. Simply find them, interact with them, and you’ll receive a weapon. Collecting 14 of the 15 available Starcats is required to earn the Wishbearer title and complete various Triumphs, so completionists will want to find every Starcat before the season ends. Updated Jul 10, 2025, by Charles Burgar:A fifteenth hidden Starcat has been discovered within the Starcrossed Exotic mission, and the Cell of the Sycophant Starcat is finally obtainable. We have updated this guide with these two new locations, and we’ve added a tip section that explains how you can determine which tileset has spawned at the start of every Riven’s Lair run, making it much easier to target specific Starcats.
Riven’s Lair Tileset Determinism
Every Riven’s Lair run will have its tileset determined by its objective title. For example, if your Riven’s Lair run has the “Chiasmus” objective header, your run is guaranteed to spawn the Astral Cloister tileset and its respective Starcat.
If you are chasing a specific Starcat, you may simply reload the Riven’s Lair activity until your objective name matches the Starcat you’re missing. These objective headers are labeled as “Lair Gen” in applicable entries.
Astral Cloister
Garden Of Plenty Starcat Location
The Garden of Plenty is atileset that can appear in Riven’s Lairand The Coil.The first story mission of this season, “Polysemy,” is guaranteed to spawn this tile.This tile also spawns in Riven’s Lair if the active objective is labeled “Polysemy.”
Once in the Garden of Plenty,head to the base of the stairs and turn left.Walk towards the cliffside to find the cat overlooking the chasm below.
Blind Well Starcat Location
You can boot up the Blind Well activity from the Dreaming City map. Once loaded,head to the massive locked door at the opposite end of the entrance.It’ll be up a set of stairs. You’ll find the cat sitting directly in front of the door.
Temple Of The Queen’s Wrath Starcat Location
The Temple of the Queen’s Wrath is a tileset that can spawn in either Riven’s Lair or The Coil.The “Tautology” seasonal mission and Riven’s Lair variant will always spawn this tile.
Assuming the statue is north,head to the southeast corner of the temple.You’ll find the Starcat in a nook that’s right behind a large pillar.
Chamber Of Starlight Starcat Location
This Starcat may be found in theChamber of Starlight Lost Sector, located in Rheasilvia.Make your way to the upper floor and look for a rectangular table.It’ll be next to the Taken Wizard boss. Walk up to the table to find the cat.
Bay Of Drowned Wishes Starcat Location
Head to theBay of Drowned Wishes Lost Sectorin the Divalian Mists to locate this next Starcat.You’ll find this cat next to the Lost Sector chest.It will be hiding next to an explosive Servitor core to the right of the chest.
Aphelion’s Rest Starcat Location
Make your way to The Strand and enter theAphelion’s Rest Lost Sector.This Starcat is located inside a bowl that’s right above the Lost Sector chest.Clear out the Lost Sector, open the chest, and then climb up the platform behind it. The cat will be hiding in a shallow bowl.
Gnashing Chamber Starcat Location
The Gnashing Chamber can spawn in any Riven’s Lair and Coil run. If you’re completing the seasonal questline or playing Riven’s Lair,the “Enthymeme” mission will always spawn this tile.
You’ll find this Starcat sitting atop a table near the center of the room, hiding next to a porcelain cat figurine.The table is found between the rock and stair chambers.
Reaver’s Orison Starcat Location
Reaver’s Orison is a tweaked variant of Morgeth’s arena from the Last Wish raid. It can randomly spawn in any Riven’s Lair and Coil run.Reaver’s Orison will always spawn during the “Apophasis” variant of Riven’s Lair.This is also a story mission tied to the “Wishing All the Best” questline.
Once you reach this particular encounter,head to the dead tree on the right side.The Starcat will be resting near the base of the tree.
Cell Of The Sycophant Starcat Location
Cell of the Sycophant is a potential encounter in the Riven’s Lair and Coil activities. If you’re playing Riven’s Lair or progressing the seasonal questline,this tile always spawns in the “Synchysis” variant.
This Starcat can be found in the far right corner of the room, located right of the exit portal.It will be hiding in shrubbery.
Spine Of Keres Starcat Location
This Starcat is keeping an Awoken Techeun company in the Spine of Keres, a location that’s west of the Divalian Mists.Head to the Queen’s Oracle and look for a nearby Techeun.She’ll be on a platform overlooking the floating construct. The Starcat will be sitting on a nearby bench.
Harbinger’s Seclude Starcat Location
you’re able to reach Harbinger’s Seclude fromRheasilvia.Head to the structure on the northern end of the patrol space and head inside.Head to the end of Harbinger’s Seclude and jump down the elevator shaft to reach the bottom floor.
The next room will be a circular chamber that leads to multiple Ahamkara skulls. You will need to visitMuninn, the skull in the left chamber. Look behind the offering table to find the Starcat.
The Confluence Starcat Location
If you played during Forsaken, this Starcat is located where the Shattered Throne entrance used to be.In the Dreaming City, you must look for a Taken portal to reach The Confluence.There are three locations this portal can spawn at:
Once you’ve entered the portal, you should arrive at The Confluence.You’re looking for a twisted version of the Blind Well room that’s covered in branches.Head to the portal frame at the opposite end of the room to find the Starcat.
Gardens Of Esila Starcat Location
The Gardens of Esila can be found south of The Strand. When you arrive, you’ll want to follow the path towards the central gazebo-like structure that wraps around the garden. When you reach the northwest corner of the route, you’ll come across a white bridge.Look under the bridgeto find the Starcat.
Astral Cloister Starcat Location
The “Chiasmus” variant of Riven’s Lair will always spawn this tile. It also appears during the final mission of this season’s questline.
Before you leave the zone, look for an isolated Awoken statue to the right of the exit portal.Jump across the gap, then look for a shallow bowl near the base of the tower. The Starcat will be hiding inside.
Starcrossed Starcat Location
This Starcat is found in the Starcrossed Exotic mission.Upon beating the final encounter and claiming your rewards, climb up the floating platforms at the end of the chamber.They will take you to an active portal. Enter the portal and walk to the end of the Vex corridor. The cat will be sitting next to the Ishtar Collective symbol.
