Summary

While the best way to playPokemon Sleepis to have it track your dozing, snoozing, or slumbering sleep styles, you’ve probably found that changing your Helper Team weekly is beneficial. The goal of the week, besides getting the best and healthiest sleep possible, is to feed Snorlax berries and meals so he can grow big and strong.

Some of the factors that help determine how much Snorlax levels up are their favorite berries, how many ingredients you use in cooking, and, of course, which Main Skills your Pokemon possesses. Although all of your Pokemons' skills help in their own way, not all skills are created equal.

This list is determined by how quickly the skills allow you to level up your Snorlax, whether directly or indirectly.

9Metronome

With A Wave Of Your Finger, A Random Skill Appears!

Much like in the mainline Pokemon games, Metronome is a skill that will randomly select a different Main Skill to use. It’s a paradox (Pokemon), if you will. By definition, especially with the limited number of Main Skills to choose from, it’s good because it lets you use a different skill.

However, also like in the mainline Pokemon games, it is a handy move to have on your Pokemon. When starting out or just when you aren’t happy with the Skills the Pokemon on your Helper Team knows, Metronome users can tap into the entire list of Main Skills that can help out in a pinch. The biggest downside is that this Skill isn’t consistent like most of the others are, which means you can’t rely on it giving you the Skill you hope it will.

8Dream Shard Magnet

More Dream Shards? Yes, Please!

Dream Shards are a kind of currency that you can only gain after sleep sessions or from skills like this one. These are very different from the Diamonds you can purchase with real money, as Dream Shards don’t buy items. Instead, you spend them when you want to level up or evolve Pokemon. While Dream Shards are very important to the game, they don’t directly affect your Snorlax or their level.

It can be argued, of course, that without them, you may’t level up your Pokemon and without leveling them, these Main Skills can’t grow more powerful, but there is a counterpoint to this. You will rack up Dream Shards quickly enough thanks to your sleep sessions and different events celebrated in-game. But, if you do find yourself short on them, or don’t play regularly, this skill can be extremely helpful.

7Charge Strength

Growing By Leaps And Bounds

Charge Strength is incredibly good for one thing, and that one thing is? Giving Snorlax strength directly. Strength can otherwise only be achieved by feeding Snorlax berries or food, but this skill allows for another avenue of powering up the lovable bear-like Pokemon.

All Main Skills can be leveled up. This means that the amount of strength, energy, ingredients, and help can all increase as your Pokemon become more powerful or evolve.

Depending on yourPokemon’s nature, which functions differently in Pokemon Sleepthan it does in other mainline entries, your Pokemon might have a higher rate at which they use their Main Skill. That’s ideal for Charge Strength because you’ll have multiple shots throughout the day to give your Snorlax strength for free, with no berries or meals needed.

6Energizing Cheer

Three Cheers For [Insert Pokemon Name Here]!

A Pokemon that knows Energizing Cheer will randomly give one of your Helper Pokemon energy. Energy is a resource for Pokemon that will decay over time, much like your own energy levels in real life. Restoring energy to a random Pokemon means that it will be more efficient at gathering berries, gathering ingredients, using their Main Skills, or any combination of the three.

Much like with Metronome, it’s the randomness of this move that can make this skill less effective than others. Depending on your Helper Team, you might energize your level five Gastly or your level 30 Charizard. However, if your team has Pokemon of near-equal levels, then the unpredictability may not matter as much.

5Charge Energy

For They Are Jolly Good Fellows!

Charge Energy is the sibling of Energizing Energy. Instead of giving some energy to a random Pokemon, it gives it to the Pokemon who is using this Main Skill. This easily makes the use of this skill more controlled by allowing you to know who is going to benefit from it.

Because of that, it also means that you’re locked into the kind of berry and ingredient you will gain more of over time. This can be a tremendous help when the Pokemon using this skill has one of Snorlax’s favorite berries. But if not, that random option might look more tempting.

4Energy For Everyone

A Round For The Helper Team!

The title of this skill is self-explanatory. Your Pokemon that uses this skill will give a small amount of energy to everyone on your current Helper Team. Five, to be exact, at its first level.

That may not be a big increase, but it keeps your Pokemon peppy for longer, which means more berries and ingredients, as well as chances for everyone to use their Main Skills more often. This also means that you don’t either have to get lucky in who benefits from this or have only one Pokemon that gains energy.

3Ingredient Magnet

The More Food, The Better

One of the best ways to give Snorlax more strength is to cook meals for them. And to cook those meals, you’ll need some ingredients. All the Pokemon in Sleep will gather anywhere between a 1x and 8x modifier of ingredients, but you may still find yourself needing more or different types of ingredients that your current Helper Team doesn’t have.

That’s where this Main Skill shines. It will randomly select ingredients from your known list for you to pick up and use as you see fit. The nice thing about how cooking works in this game is that you can add any ingredients to a dish to increase the strength it gives to Snorlax, whether it’s part of the original recipe or not.

2Cooking Power-Up

Snorlax Stays Hungry, They Devour

Speaking of making meals for Snorlax, the Cooking Power-Up skill helps you giveSnorlax even more strength through cooking. How? It magically increases the size of your pot, something you can only do with Diamonds otherwise.

Having a bigger pot means you’re able to cram more ingredients in it, which in turn, means that whatever dish you make, Snorlax will be able to generate even more strength than if you were locked into using your standard amount. Since the upgraded pot size is usually locked behind a paywall, this is easily the biggest reward for your theoretical dollars, pounds, or the like.

1Extra Help

Move Over Helping Hand

In Pokemon Sleep, there is an item called a Helper Whistle. Using it makes each of your Helper Pokemon provide three hours of berries and ingredients to you instantly. Although not as powerful as the Whistle, Extra Help does the same thing on a smaller scale.

It has one of your Helper Pokemon give you more help than they normally would. Where the various Cheer and Energizing skills give you a higher chance of this help happening, Extra Help promises it, which makes it an invaluable tool to have at your disposal.
