Dammon is a tiefling smithy you may meet in the Druid Grove in Act One ofBaldur’s Gate 3. He is the most useful once you reach Act Two and find him in the center barn in Last Light Inn. Dammon is a key part of progressing with Karlach’s romance and personal story, but he has other important uses, too.

Dammon sells a lot of good gear in his trade shop. His shop is different from what you can get by asking him to craft something by hand. There are certain types of material you can run into throughout your adventuring in the game that can be taken back to Dammon, where he can effectively craft something useful.

If you pickpocket Dammon in Act Two, he will run away and never return, so you will not be able to use his services again. There is also a bug where, upon first entrance to Last Light Inn, Dammon dies.

To avoid this, reload your latest save, walk into Last Light Inn, and quickly fast-travel to a location in Act One. Fast travel back to Last Light Inn, and Dammon should be in one piece.

We’ve updated this article to include the best places to find the needed materials for Dammon’s craft.

Where To Find All Materials For Dammon

You might want to craft everything Dammon has on offer, namely all the pieces of the Flawed Helldusk set, but without risking Karlach’s quest in the process. If that’s the case, then you’ll need a lot of Infernal Iron, at the very least five pieces, so you can meet your entire quota.

If that’s the case, then you’ll find the next grid useful, since we mark every single Infernal Iron (or Alloy) you may find in the game. We’ve also included all the Devilfoil Masks in case you want to have a few explosives to match your new hellish look.

Flawed Helldusk Armour

You Don’t Need To Kill A Cambion For It

The chest armor piece for Flawed Helldusk requires one Infernal Alloy or Infernal Iron.you may find a piece of Infernal Iron in a cellar in Blighted Village in Act One. The entrance to the cellar will have large locked doors under the first building.

How To Use Flawed Helldusk Armour

Flawed Helldusk Armour is a lesser version of the Helldusk Armour set. This version has 18 AC and is Heavy Armor. When wearing it, you get the abilities Lesser Infernal Retribution and Superior Plate.

Lesser Infernal Retribution has a chance to deal 1d4 Fire damagewhen hit by an enemy within two meters of you. Superior Plate makes it so that you take one less Piercing damage when wearing. Because this is very heavy armor, it will give you a Disadvantage on Stealth checks. This armor plate sells for 3,200 gold and is best used as a set because each piece of the set adds additional damage modifiers for your attacks.

The game has multiple names for this special Infernal Metal that Dammon and Karlach require. You may find Infernal Iron or Infernal Alloy. If you find Infernal Alloy, you’re able to get multiple uses out of it. Infernal Iron can only be used once.

Flawed Helldusk Gloves

Ideal For Monks

If you find another piece of Infernal Alloy or Infernal Iron, and Karlach doesn’t need it, Dammon can also craft one pair of Flawed Helldusk gloves for you. You can find another piece of Infernal Iron behind the Masons Guild in Reithwin Town in Act Two.

How To Use Flawed Helldusk Gloves

The Flawed Helldusk Gloves come with the ability Lesser Infernal Touch. Lesser Infernal Touch makes your primary weapon deal 1d4 Fire damage. If you are unarmed with these gloves on, you will deal 1d4 Necrotic damage with the chance to inflict Bleeding. These gloves give a +1 increase to Strength Saving Throws. Best used on a Strength-proficient character, these gloves allow you to deal additional damage alongside your regular melee attacks.

Flawed Helldusk Helmet

It Isn’t Considered Heavy Armor

The last piece of armor Dammon can craft you is the Flawed Helldusk Helmet. Dammon requires one Infernal Alloy or Infernal Iron to craft it. You can be given another piece of Infernal Iron in Grymforge if you speak with the trader Stonemason Kith and pass all the ability checks when agreeing to analyze the rubble.

How To Use Flawed Helldusk Helmet

The helmet is best used in conjunction with the set. The Flawed Helldusk Helmet has the ability of Magic Durability. Magic Durability makes it so that the wearer has a +two bonus to Saving Throws against spells. The helmet is considered Medium Armor and comes with a +one Saving Throw for Constitution. Alone, the helmet is okay but becomes stronger when you reap all the set benefits for one raging, Strength-proficient tank.

Orthon Explosives

You Look Better Without The Mask Anyway

Dammon can craft you up to four Orthon Explosives, depending on how many Devilfoil Masks you have.Devilfoil Masks are useful itemsthat come with an interesting Strength buff if used correctly. They can be found scattered around Act One in Grymforge, located in the Underdark. One mask equals one explosive.

How To Use An Orthon Explosive

An Orthon Explosive is a one-use item that deals 3d6 Fire damage and inflicts Burning for four turns. It also deals Fire and Thunder damage as AOE to nearby objects. This is a deadly explosive that Dammon warns you about using, and it will consume your useful helmets in the mix, so be sure you want these grenades before giving up the helmets.

Orthon Explosives require a Dexterity Saving Throw against it. You will want to save these explosives for tough fights that involve multiple enemies in one location. You won’t want your party members nearby when you set this off. Since you get access to these explosives in Act Two, you should save them for when you go to Moonrise Towers or Shar’s Temple.
