A talentedKingdom Heartsfan has created a mod forElden Ringthat brings Kairi to the Lands Between, complete with unique voicelines and several different equipable Keyblades.

One of the longest-running debates in the Kingdom Hearts community is whether or not Kairi is useless. Some fans argue that she always gets kidnapped and never has a chance to actually do anything, while the more level-headed fans (like myself) think that what she lacks in battle experience she makes up for by literally saving Sora’s life and constantly helping him out at every turn.

Okay, yes she does get kidnapped a lot and really needs a proper chance to prove herself and not be put on the sidelines, but she’sfarfrom the series' most useless character. It looks like it’s time to prove that fact by sending Kairi to one of the most dangerous and difficult lands in recent gaming history - The Lands Between from Elden Ring.

As pointed out on Twitter by KHVidsNET,Nexus modder iwtexplode has created a mod that makes Kairi (in her Kingdom Hearts 3 outfit) playable in Elden Ring. Although it might seem like a simple model swap mod, it actually goes a lot more in-depth than that, starting with a custom class called “Princess of Heart”.

Beyond getting to look like Kairi as you explore the desolate Lands Between, you’ll also be able to equip and use Keyblades from Kingdom Hearts. Kairi starts out, fittingly, with two versions of her own Keyblade, Destiny’s Embrace, with one focusing on melee and the other specialising in spellcasting.

That’s not all, though. As you can see from the trailer above, there are also six other Keyblades that can be found and equipped, such as Master’s Defender, the Kingdom Key, Oathkeeper and Oblivion. Elden Ring is known for its variety of weapons, but it looks like you’ll never have to use anything but a Keyblade with this mod.

Considering what it was like to play as Kairi during Kingdom Hearts 3’s Remind DLC, it makes a lot of sense for her to be more focused on magic. She can certainly wield a Keyblade well, but the Princess of Heart is very strong when it comes to magic.

Although you’ll likely want to just play as Kairi in her normal outfit, the mod is also compatible with all of the costumes and armour pieces that can be found in Elden Ring, which means you can dress Kairi up however you want. You can also customise your weapon with 100 different skills, as all of the weapons in the mod can be equipped with any Ashes of War instead of being limited by category.
