Summary

Dungeons and Dragonswill celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2024. That’s right, people have been meeting up to roleplay D&D’s fantasy adventures together for almost half a century. Pretty incredible, and there will likely be a few ways that milestone is marked throughout 2024. We already know one of the ways D&D’s creators plan to celebrate. By teaming up with the US Postal Service to launch a line of stamps, each of which will depict a famous image from a point in D&D’s history.

D&D’s stamp collection will be available in 2024 and made up of ten designs (thanks,Wargamer). Pulling from books and evenMagic: The Gathering, some of the designs used will be ones fans instantly recognize, while others might not be quite as familiar. They’ve also been taken from different points in D&D history with one of the designs used originally appearing in the Players' Manual that was first published 40 years ago.

Stamps are effectively the original trading cards, although granted, the primary reason they exist is so letters and parcels can be sent through the mail. I can’t imagine the D&D stamps will be used for that, though. As for where collectors will be able to get their hands on them, the stamps will be sold throughthe USPS online store, and probablyit’s Amazon storefronttoo. No word yet on when that might be or how much the stamps will cost.

Although we don’t know much else about how D&D’s landmark anniversary will be marked next year, we do know Wizards of the Coast will be kicking the year off in style, even if the way it will do that coinciding with the anniversary is merely coincidence. The Deck of Many Things will be available in January, but the only reason it’s launching in 2024 is because it was delayed out of 2023. A new player’s handbook and a history book covering the early years of the RPG will also launch next year.

Even though everything mentioned already, from the stamps to the new deck, won’t be launching until 2024, there’s still plenty of D&D stuff to grab right now, whether you’re about to embark on your first adventure or you’re a seasoned veteran looking to add to your collection.
