Introduced as a subclass for cleric within a crossover between Magic: The Gathering andDungeons & Dragons, the Order Cleric made its way into the hearts of players as an official domain in Tasha’s Cauldron Of Everything. Order is a principled, disciplined, and logical clerical domain, frequently following a strict code laid out by their god.
Perhaps best described as the ultimate ‘lawfully aligned’ character, the Order Cleric believes that law comes above all. Leaders are meant to enforce the law, people are meant to obey it, and any rogue elements among the two must be removed to ensure people’s safety and security.

Order Domain Cleric Deities
Chaos isdistrusted and detested among the clergy and deities of the Order Domain. While the belief in law above everything else may seem extreme, the reality is that gods with all sorts of portfolios may take an interest in upholding a system.
Here are some ideas for a deity your Order Cleric may worship:

Description
Bane
Bane, one of The Dead Three, symbolizes the idea that the weak should be conquered by the strong, attaching ambition and control to his portfolio. He favors those who see themselves as bringers of order and aids adventurers who show particular mettle… to his own sinister ends.
Maglubiyet
Chief deity and leader of the goblinoid species, Maglubiyetdemands sacrifices of his followers. He conveys omens to worshipers through benign natural occurrences, such as the way a shadow falls or the spatter of blood from an axe.
Asmodeus
The King of the Nine Hells is acharismaticandlawfulbeing, in stark contrast to what many believe him to be on the Material Plane.A deity of indulgence, oppression, and power,Asmodeus is often described as anauthoritarian godwho seeks control over as many planes and people as he can.
Erathis
The goddess of civilization, law, and order. In the Wildemount campaign setting, she is entangled in a relationship with the goddess Melora.
Waukeen
The goddess of merchants and deals,Waukeen is a lesser deity who patrons merchants. She detests being cheated and emphasizes holding up one’s end of a bargain.

Recommended Order Cleric Ability Scores
Wisdomis yourspellcasting modifier, and you’ll be happy with it as your primary ability score. It also affects a good bunch of your skill checks, such as Perception and Insight, which are good to have high passives in.
Constitutionwill be the next best ability score to focus on, as Constitution is going to affect your hit point maximum. Normally, Dexterity would be next, but you can actually make a strong case forStrength, seeing as your cleric will have a heavy armor proficiency. That being said,Dexterityalso determines your armor class, so make sure you know the build you’re going for.

Trying to acclimate your character to armor and tanking may have you prioritizing Strength over Dexterity for heavier armors, whereas if you’re planning on focusing more on spellcasting, you may be happier prioritizing Dexterity over Strength for armor class.
Charismawill be next, followed byIntelligence. Or vice versa, depending on your preference.
Recommended Species For Order Domain Cleric
For an Order Cleric planning to utilize your armor proficiency, considerdragonbornorgoliathas a choice for species. Goliath’sStone’s Endurancelets you reduce the damage you take, anddragonbornhas abreath weaponthat will come in handy in close quarters.
You don’t get martial weapon proficiency, so you don’t need to worry about choosing a species that does extra damage when in melee range because you have aDivine Strike. If you want to boost it anyway, you might considerhalf-orcorelf.
For an Order Cleric planning on being a spellcaster,yuan-ti, triton, and aasimarboast someresistancesthat will make you moredurablein the face of other spellcasters and common damage types.Kalashtar, by contrast, gives youresistancetopsychic damage, which isn’t commonly resisted, as well as advantage on Wisdom saving throws, which you are already proficient in.

One might note thatVoice of Authority specifies using a spell slot, and while having innate casting never hurts, it may also be a headache to remember whether the spell you use is eligible.
