The legendaries of Rise of the Floodborn are officially here. The highest rarity (besides enchanted) brings new and powerful abilities impacting decks. Whilst they are the hardest to pull in packs, their impact on games makes them some of the best in all ofDisney Lorcana.
There have been many new archetypes and abilities that have popped up with new cards being introduced. Whether you are aiming to discard as many cards as possible, gain mass amounts of lore, or filter through your deck, these legendaries can do it all.

12Scar, Viscous Cheater
He’s clawing his way to victory!
With Scar, Viscous Cheater, you will want to challenge as often as you can with him. His ability Daddy Isn’t Here To Save You lets you ready him back up whenever he banishes another character in a challenge. This works perfectly because healso has Rush.
Scar can be played, challenge, and banish a character multiple times in one round. The surprise factor of being able to wipe multiple characters off the board at once is what can make this card very powerful. The only thing is he can’t quest for the rest of that turn.

11Alice, Growing Girl
She won’t stop growing!
The thing with Alice, Growing Girl is it can be an adventure to get her up to ten strength. Her ability, What Did I Do? says while she had ten strength or more, she gets plus four lore. In addition to her base lore stat of one that would be a quest for five lore.
We saw an ability like this with Belle, Strange but Special in The First Chapter, which said if you had ten plus ink she’d get plus four lore. The difference is once you reached ten lore you were set, but with Alice, you have to get ten strength turn after turn which is more difficult.

10Donald Duck, Not Again!
AH PHOOEY!
With a high focus on damage counters in Rise of the Floodborn, Donald Duck, Not Again! Benefits greatly from that. His Phooey! ability says he gets plus one lore for each damage counter that is on him. Using Ruby’s Teeth and Ambition action, you can put two damage on him whilst also putting two damage on an opposing character.
That ability to get damage on him by doing it yourself instead of waiting to see if your opponent will challenge him and leave damage there is great. Plus, his Evasive keywordmakes it that much harder to remove him from the board.

9Mufasa, Betrayed Leader
He will always be remembered.
In a color like Amber, Mufasa, Betrayed Leader’s ability The Sun Will Set plays right into the archetype of going wide. It says that whenever he is banished you may reveal the top card of your deck, and if it’s a character you’re able to play them for free, and they enter exerted. If it is not a character, they go back to the top of your deck.
If you don’t have knowledge of what is on top of your deck then when Mufsasa is banished it’s a toss-up if you get a small less powerful character or another big-time character that can provide immediate assistance. There is some luck that goes into it and if luck is on your side Mufasa can be a big benefit.

8Beast, Relentless
Can’t stop won’t stop the Beast.
Beast, Relentless is a very simple yet very effective card. His ability Second Wind says whenever an opposing character is damaged, you may ready this character. And with all of the cards that are dealing damage when they are played or when an ability is triggered, you may ready Beast many times.
His ability also doesn’t say he can’t quest for the rest of his turn. We have seen that on virtually every card that can ready back up, so being able to quest multiple times with Beast on a turn is a very easy thing to do if you play your cards right.

7Namaari, Morning Mist
She’s got a plan in mind!
A first-of-its-kind ability is presented on Namaari, Morning Mist. Our first villain/princess card has the ability Blades. It says that Namaari can challenge ready characters. That alone makes this card a scary card to play down and for your opponent to have to deal with.
Ultimately, not one of your opponent’s characters is safe while Namaari is on the board. Yes, she only has two strength, but with a heavy amount of support characters in Lorcana, there are easy ways to boost that up and make her challenges have the ability to take out higher-threat characters.

6Beast, Tragic Hero
It was for the greater good.
One offour Floodborn charactersthat got the legendary treatment, Beast, Tragic Hero can help you in multiple facets of the game. His ability It’s Better This Way is split up into two parts. The first part is if he has no damage on him at the start of your turn, you can draw a card.
The second part says that if he does have damage, he gets plus four strength for that turn. If he does or doesn’t have damage on him there are two great payoffs to that ability. His shift three also lets him come down fairly early and can help you replenish your hand or take care of multiple threats.

5Madam Mim, Purple Dragon
Big scary dragon! Run!!!
One of the biggest natural questers in all of Lorcana so far, Madam Mim, Purple Dragon has a base lore stat of four which is very good, as we saw on Mickey Mouse, Brave Little Tailor in The First Chapter. She also has Evasive just like Mickey which makes her more of a problem to get rid of.
There is a catch to playing her which is her I Win, I Win! ability. It says whenever you play this character banish Madam Mim or return another two characters to your hand. So essentially you need to have two characters on the board to play her. With all of the bounce archetype characters roaming around, this should easily slide into that style of deck.

4Fairy Godmother, Mystic Armorer
She’s got any weapon you may need!
Fairy Godmother, Mystic Armorer’s ability is a lengthy one. It says whenever this character quests, your characters gain challenger plus three, and When this character is banished in a challenge, return this card to your hand this turn.
There is a lot to unpack there, and this is one of the cards that really needs the official rulebook to truly know how good it is. But on paper being able to give all of your characters challenger plus three and the ability to be brought back to your hand can provide immense value. There is a lot that can be done with this card in a lot of different scenarios with her ability.

3Sisu, Diving Water Dragon
Search through your deck like a pro!
Drawing and filing through your deck is a key part of winning a game of Lorcana. Sisu, Divine Water Dragon’s ability I Trust You helps with that. It says whenever she quests look at the top two cards of your deck. You may put one into your hand, and then you put the rest on the bottom of your deck.
This allows you to choose if either of those cards are viable in the current state and add one to your hand or if they aren’t what you want put them on the bottom. This is pure deck filtering and allows you to look for the exact cards you may need.
