One of the most positive aspects aboutCoral Islandis that it takes a very fresh approach to diversity. There are many details that are incorporated very organically into the game’s character design, as well as in the NPCs' identities. Given that the game places some emphasis on the romantic possibilities you have as a player, that diversity can be really exciting.

While Dippa was the first non-binary character introduced to the game, they are not available to be romanced because they are Emily’s partner. However, that was not the end of the possibility to have a nonbinary partner in the game, as Raj was later introduced as a romanceable option.

Who Is Raj?

Raj is one of the residents of Starlet Town. They live in Coral Inn andown Raja’s Coffee Corner, the little coffee shop located next to Fishensips.

Raj is very passionate about Coffee. They are a connoisseur, and their life’s goal is tocraft the perfect cup of coffee. As such, they are more invested in their craft than on the business side of things. Regardless, they will sometimes express concern about the business landscape on the island.

They are one of the NPCs that willweigh the benefits of Pufferfish’s development plans, along with Wakuu.

Raj enjoys living in Coral Inn. They seem to like the sense of community such spaces can foster, and they alsolike meeting interesting people.

Raj’s Schedule

Raj hasone of the most repetitive schedules among all the islanders, which makes them particularly easy to find at any given time. Even their schedule’s variations are fairly consistent when it deviates from their general weekly schedule. For example,they will always do the same things on rainy days.

Raj generally frequents the same handful of places, alternating between them according to the weather.The coffee shop is open every day except for when it rains or snows.

Raj’s passion for coffee is clearly visible in their preferred gifts;most of the gifts they love are somehow related to coffee. They also have something of a dislike for vegetables, a fact which they openly share in some of their dialogues. So, you might want to avoid giving them any greens.

Raj’s Gifts To You

Once you have agood enough relationship with any islanderyou will occasionally receive letters in the mail from them. Sometimes they will send you help requests, but most of the time they will just send you a little note with a gift attached. Raj will do this as well once you haveachieved (or passed) the two-heart mark.

This gift mechanic applies toboth regular NPCs and romanceable NPCs.

Raj’s gifts do not have any conditions you need to achieve attached to them. So, while some NPCs might require a higher town rank, or for a certain season to arrive,Raj will just send their gifts randomly. There are three possible things you might get from Raj in your mailbox: Coffee, Coffee Beans, and Green Tea.

What Are Raj’s Heart Events?

Like all other NPCs in Coral Island, Raj hasa set of special cut scenes that you can trigger as your relationship with them progresses. Though Raj’s heart events do not have special requirements besides reaching heart milestones, they do have some cut scenes that are split in parts. Triggering these segmented heart events will require you togo to different locations within specific time frames.

The game considers these cut scenes that are split to beparts of a whole rather than individual events.
