When Alan and Saga meet for the first time inAlan Wake 2, you’re free to pursue their storylines in any order from that point forward. Continuing Saga’s investigation will take you to the nearby town of Watery, where the mystery around Bright Falls and its inhabitants grows deeper and darker.

Local Girl is a fairly long chapter, and it will take you to all the key locations in Watery. Between solving puzzles, exploring the map, and fighting the Taken, you’ll have your hands full with this one. If you find yourself stuck, this guide will take you all the way through the confrontation in the Overlap.

How To Reach Coffee World

Once Saga is finished questioning Alan at the lodge in Bright Falls, you cantravel to Watery at any time byinteracting with your car in the parking lot outside.You can also explore Bright Falls or return to Cauldron Lake to see if anything has changed since the previous night.

Watery is an even smaller town than Bright Falls; when you first arrive, the only building of any real note isSuomi Hall. The door to the left of the stage leads to aBreak Roomwhere you can save, organize your inventory, orswitch to Alan’s storyline.

Explore the town to your content, then walk west to find the Koskela brothers inspecting a washed-out bridge. Talk to them, thentake the forest trail behind them. Cross the bridge at the end of the trail to reach Coffee World, the area’s biggest tourist attraction.

There’s a lot to explore in the woods, but you’ll also find enemies there. If you want to just pass straight through,keep the river on your left until you come to the bridge.

It’s worth stopping by thehunting lodgealong the trail; solving a quick puzzle there will earn you thecrossbow, a powerful single-shot weapon.

Where To Find The Screwdriver

The first building you see upon entering Coffee World is the gift shop, where Ilmo said the Trailer Key is kept. However, the door is padlocked.Read the maintenance notesto the right of the doorand add them to your Case Board to begin searching for a way in.

According to the notes, you can find the Screwdriver at a ride in thesoutheast corner of the park, called the Percolator.

When you enter the Percolator, you’ll be attacked by two Taken; one on the ground and one hiding on the pillar at the center of the ride. If you’re fast, you caneliminate the one on the pillarwith a crossbow bolt to the head before he has a chance to throw anything at you.

You won’t be able to recover your bolt if you use this strategy, but there are several more to collect at the archery attraction in the nearby Free Trade Fun Zone.

Once the Taken are beaten, the ride will stop. Go to the left side andcollect the Screwdriver from on top of the control panel.You can use it to open any padlocks you encounter, so be sure to revisit areas you’ve already explored once you get back to town!

Be careful on your way back, as there will now be several Taken patrolling the park!

How To Open The Gift Shop Safe

The Screwdriver will allow you toopen the front door to the Gift Shop.Inside, checkunder the cash registerfor the safe. A note on the desk indicates that the combination isTracker, Lookout, Cleaner- you’ll need to figure out what that means to proceed.

From the safe, look on thewall to your leftfor a photo board with pictures of the park’s employees. Each picture has stickers shaped like coffee beans on it.Count the number of stickerson the photos related to the clues; the Tracker is Lost and Found, the Lookout is Security, and the Cleaner is the Janitor. Putting the clues together,the combination for the Gift Shop safe is 146.

From here, you can keep looking around the park, but you’ll be back soon enough. Leave through the main entrance on the south side; the bridge is repaired, so you can return to town by turning left. Your objective,Lighthouse Trailer Park, is to the right.

How To Open The Locked Door In The Kalevala Knights Motorcycle Workshop

When Saga finds the newspaper in Logan’s room at the trailer park, she’ll walk outside automatically during the cutscene that follows. There, she’ll seea cultist at the park entrance.

Follow him to the Kalevala Knights workshop across the street; the entrance to the building will now be open, but there is no sign of the cultists.

Collect everything you can from around the room, then enter the office on the right side of the building. Check the emails on the computer, as they have some evidence that you can use and ahint for the combination lockleading to the next room.

The email says tolook inside the smiling coffee cup.Head back out into the workshop; on the opposite side of the building is part of a ride from Coffee World undergoing maintenance, in the shape of a coffee cup with a smile painted on it.

Stand on the side of the cup opposite the smile.You’ll be able to seethree symbols;one inside the cup, and two painted on the boxes ahead and to the right. Note the orderfrom highest to lowest- this is the combination for the lock.

Past the door, you’ll be able tosave and resupply in a Break Room. There’s a lot of evidence on the table in the middle of the room, and on the bulletin board at the back - be sure to collect it all!

The bulletin board also has maps showingthe locations of all the Cult Stashes.

When you’re ready,climb down through the trapdoor on the right side of the roomto enter the basement. There,try to take the Clicker from the altar- it will vanish into the Overlap.

Pick up the Manuscript Page that appears on the floor behind you, then go to the Mind Place. Use your evidence tocreate a profile on Mulligan and Thornton;you’ll need to go to theparade float outside the building.

If you haven’t already done so,collect the fuse from the center table in the Break Room.You’ll need it shortly!

How To Fix The Parade Float

When you emerge from the Break Room, be ready for a fight; ahammer-wielding Takenwill attack in the main area of the workshop. He’s very slow, soheadshots and crossbow boltsare excellent against him,especially if you have the Hammer Charm equipped.

Once the Taken is defeated,burn the Darkness Barrier with your flashlightto leave the building. Take the Manuscript Page on the steps to the parade float to start the Overlap ritual.

Inspect the signs and cutouts on the float; you’ll need to finish each component to open the path. The workbench to the right has alist of all the necessary parts and their locations.Put the list on your Case Board to unlock a Profile of the Koskela Brothers; use it, then Profile the Deputies to find the location of the mask. Once you’ve done so, the Moose Skull will appear on the edge of the crumbling well in Coffee World.

Saga can’t fight while carrying the Moose Skill, so take it straight back to the float and install it on theright-hand character cutout.

To the right of the float is ashortcut back to Coffee World;unlock it and return to the theme park to find the parts you need. After passing through the gate,take a sharp rightto reach the Espresso Express.

Install the fuse in the circuit boxon the right side of the ride, at ground level. The lights on the machinery will turn on; climb onto the boarding deck andwalk to the far side, where you’ll find the panel to turn activate the Espresso Express.

One of the cars for the ride is missing.Press the button again to turn the ride off when the empty slot is over the gap in front of you; when the machinery stops, it should land in a position that allows you toclimb down under the ridewithout being blocked by a car.

Hop down into the gap, thenturn aroundto find a crawlspace that leads to the main circuit board. Take the components, thenlook for another crawlspace to your leftthat will allow you to exit even while the machinery is going haywire.

A Taken will emerge from the Huotari Well as you leave the Espresso Express; be ready to fight or flee to the safety of the light nearby!

To get the knife for the float,return to the Gift Shop. A display against the rear wall hasone toy knife left; take it, then move on.

In theFair Trade Fun Zone, you’ll hear an audio recording of a creepy laugh. Look behind the kissing boothto the left of the Percolator Entrance;you’ll find a cardboard mascot with a cassette tape recorder attached to its back. Recover the tape for the float.

Once you have all the parts,return to the float.There will be several Taken gathered near the well to bar your way.

The circuit board goes in the mechanism on the right side of the float; the Moose Skull and Toy Knife should be attached to the figure on the right, and the Cassette Tape goes in the cardboard cutout of the well on the left.

How To Defeat Deputies Thornton And Mulligan

When all the components are in place, the portal to the Overlap will open at the Huotari Well. Saga will automatically be transported there, so all you have to do isclimb down the ladder.

Follow the path before you; the building on the left is optional, butcontains a Manuscript Pageif you’re looking to collect them all.

When you hear Logan’s voice, you’ll findanother well;climb down to continue into the Overlap. You’ll start looping through the same environment.

The next wellblocks you when you try to enter it;instead, take the newly-opened path behind it.Follow themusic, fighting any Taken that block your path, until you come to asmall cave.

Past the cave, the music will be replaced bythe creepy laughter from the audio cassette.Keep following the sound, and you’ll reach a climbable well. There’s another loop, but this time there’sa Shoebox and some supplies just past the sauna building.Stock up, and verify your health is full and that your weapons are all fully loaded.

When you reach the well, the Deputies will attack one at a time.Thorntonuses a hunting rifle,and will teleport to the outskirts of the area. Listen for him to cock his weapon, thendodge just as he fires.Return fire with thecrossbow or pistolto defeat him.

Mulliganattacks with a shotgunand can deal heavy damage at close range. Stagger him withheadshots from the pistolor counter with your own shotgun, but keep your distance!

The Deputies willendlessly respawn from the well.Between attacks,look for Darkness nodes around the areaand burn them away with the flashlight.

The Deputies willdrop ammo and batteries each time you defeat them.

Once all the Darkness is destroyed, both Deputies will emerge at once.Take down Mulligan first, as he presents a more immediate threat. Once Thornton is isolated, it will be much easier to dodge his shots and finish him off.
