The second case of Spirit of Justice, included in theApollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy, brings back a few characters who weren’t all that prominent in the previous game - namely, Trucy Wright and Ema Skye. This is fitting for a game that aims to celebrate the history of the past five games and provide some thrills.
This is an interesting case, as it’s a rare episode that involves only one investigation day and one trial day instead of the far more standard two each. It’s also the first time that Spirit of Justice will require that you investigate, making it a useful tutorial for the rest of the game.
The guide below covers the choices you’ll need to make in your responses and cross-examinations and nothing else - we’ll try to make this as spoiler-free as possible!
Investigation
After the introductory scenes, you’ll be in control of Apollo in the Dressing Room with Athena and Trucy.Talk to Trucy to continue.
When this guide asks that you ‘Talk’ to someone, it meansexhausting their dialogue optionsso that a red check mark appears next to every option.
When prompted,Move back to the Stage. After the climactic scenes here,Talk to Athenawhen you get the chance, and then move to the Wright Anything Agency. After the scenes,Move to the Detention Center as prompted and then Talk to Trucy.
After talking to Trucy about Mr. Reus, you’ll get a tutorial onApollo’s perception ability. When prompted to find Trucy’s tell,pan the camera up to her eyes. Hit thePerceivebutton when the sentence reaches “I’m fine!” The, Present your Attorney’s Badge to her.
After talking to Trucy about the truth and pledging to defend her,Move to Penrose Theaterto meet up with Ema Skye.Talkto her to learn all you can about the case and how it’s being treated by the prosecution. Once you have permission to examine the crime scene,Move to the DressingRoom.

After this, you’ll be told that you’ve examined everything you need to.Move to the Stagenow.
If you need to learn the controls for examining large screens with multiple viewpoints, let Athena give you the rundown. Once that’s over, Examine the following:
After you’veexamined everything, you’ll enter a conversation with Athena. State that the swords could have been swapped after the set piece fell. After this, Ema will treat you to a fingerprinting tutorial. Follow the steps until you’ve found a handprint. This belongs toMr. Reus, as does the second handprint you’ll find.
As opposed to Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, you’ll have todecide for yourself when to switch to Analyse modeto find a match. As long as a print looks clear, you should be able to test it.
When prompted to examine the outside of the coffin,dust for prints in the upper-right corner, on the edge of the green quadrant. This one belongs toBonny. Dust on thetop of the coffinnext, next to the dark smudge - you’ll find a lone print here that doesn’t match anyone on record. That’s all for fingerprints for now!
After discussing your findings,Examine the back of the now-revealed backstageto head back there. Here,Examine the following:
Finally,Examine the ladder to the catwalk. Up here,Examine Mr. Hat on the green padding, the winch pulleys, the catwalk itself, and the other cutouts hanging up there. Once you’ve examined everything, you’ll head back down to the ground and talk with Athena about what you’ve learned. A man will then appear -Examine him and then Talk to him.
Move back to the Dressing Roomto continue.
Talk to Bonny here. When you get the option, useApollo’s perceptionability -Perceive her top hat when the sentence reaches “perform it perfectly!“Inquire whether or not she might have messed up Trucy’s escape and then finishTalkingto her.
We can’t head to the Understage just yet, so let’sMove to the Detention Center. Present her withTrucy’s Notebookand thenTalk to herabout everything.
To continue, Move to the Dressing Room once more andExamine the clipboard on the table to the right. You’ll take a closer look - Examine the cover to open it up, and thenExamine the cross-headed screwin the lower-right corner. Then, rotate the clipboard around andExamine the back paneland then the black sheet of paper inside.
To get to the Understage,head to the Stage, Examine the back wall, and then Examine the sign. Once downstairs,Examine everythingyou can here:
You’ll know you’ve examined everything when Athena hears voices, and you overhear a conversation between Bonny and Retinz. Afterwards,Move to the Take-2 TV Studio.Examine the manin the center of the screen to get the Show Footage and thenExamine the workstationon the right.
To finish up the day,Move back to the Wright Anything AgencyandTalk to Retinz. After the scenes, you’ll be ready for the case’s trial!
