As you explore the world ofArk: Survival Ascended, you’ll find dinosaurs of various species, sizes, and aggressiveness. Most dinos in this game can be tamed and asked to follow your commands, and each one of them has a specific use. However, some of them might not be so easy to find.
Pachy is one such dinosaur in the game. With its small size and low population, you might end up exploring for hours before you find one. Thankfully, once you do spot one of these, they’re quite easy to tame with high usability.

Pachy Taming Process
To tame a Pachy, you’ll first have to head over to the grasslands or beach area in Ark: Survival Ascended and find one.These creatures are quite small and don’t make a lot of noise, so you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled. Once you locate a good level Pachy that you want to tame, it’s time to craft a Bola and a Club.
Use the Bola to keep it in one place while you Club it until it goes unconscious. Try to stay away from its head since it’llattack you if you get close and the head also takes less damage, which reduces the effectiveness of your Club. You can also use Tranq Arrows to make it unconscious with a bow or a crossbow.
If your Pachy is low level, there’s a chance that itmight die from the Tranq Arrow damagebefore it goes unconscious.
Once unconscious, you can put Mejoberries in its inventory to feed. As the dinosaur’s food goes down,it’ll eat the berries and the taming bar will go up. Once tamed, you can use the Pachy Saddle to ride it.
What Is Pachy Used For?
Once you tame and ride a Pachy, you’ll realize that they’re quite slow and don’t have a lot of weight. This means that you can’t use these creatures to carry heavy items around the world. However,the hardened part on their head gives them an edge in battle, dealing a ton of damage to the enemies.
In Ark: Survival Ascended, you’re able to score Crit hits on other dinosaurs,which makes this headbutt even more deadly. You can also get a temporary speed boost on this creature while using the special ability as well.
