While you can discover some gear in the open world or earn them as rewards from quests, crafting plays a significant role in the game.
Crafting is important and it serves as your avenue to acquire the best equipment available. However, before you craft your first piece, there are several important aspects to understand about the crafting system and how it works to make the best out of it.
How Does Crafting Work
In this game, you can craft three main types of items:
To craft weapons and armor, you need to obtain the correspondingDesigns, which are essentially blueprints. Designs can bepurchased from various merchants in the main campsorreceived as rewards for specific quests.
Ammunition and special ammunition, on the other hand, arelinked to the type of bow or spear you possess.
For instance, if your bow is equipped with Fire arrows, you automatically have the design for crafting them.
Designs come in three different rarities:Fine, Superior,andExquisite, and the higher the rarity, the better materials you need to craft a design.
Each rarity level requires specific materials for crafting. In order to locate these materials,you can use your Hunter’s Guide, which provides information onwhere to find each piece. This guide helps you gather essential details for a successful crafting experience.
How To Craft Ammunition
When crafting ammunition, your main focus will be oncrafting arrowsand spearsfor your variousbows and spears, along with theirspecial ammunition.
Crafting regular arrows and spears is straightforward, requiringsticksas the primary material.Sticks are readily available throughout the game, making it unlikely that you’ll run out of them. Special ammunition, however, varies between different types.
To craft ammunition,open your weapons wheelandcycle to the specific weaponfor which you want to craft ammunition.The center of the wheel will display the requirements needed to craft that particular ammunition.
You can easily switch between regular and special ammunition using the weapons wheel in order to craft them.
How To Craft Weapons And Armor Pieces
Crafting weapons and armor pieces involves a more intricate process compared to ammunition. To begin,you must locate a Crafting Table, conveniently available at every camp in the game.
Before crafting,ensure you have the Designfor the specific item you want to create.
Once you possess the Design, head to the nearest crafting table. Here, you’ll find a display ofall available Designs for crafting. On the left side, you may craft armor pieces, while the right side allows you to craft various bows and your spear thrower.
Upon selecting a design to craft,you’ll see the required materials. Here, you canpin the materials for special highlightingwhen using your Na’vi senses orcheck their locations in the Hunter’s Guide.
Some Designs come withembedded abilitiesthat are automatically acquired upon crafting them.
In addition to that, the materials used not onlydetermine the health or damage benefitsbut alsocontribute to special abilities within the crafted item.
The two tables below display the designs we have managed to acquire thus far. Given the nature of this open-world game, it’s possible that we may have missed some designs that are not included in the table.
