Arcade Quest is a six-chapter long adventure inTekken 8that follows your created Avatar through a series of escalating challenges and competition, ultimately concluding with a shot at becoming the Tekken Cup Champion. But, before that, you must first progress through the mode’s penultimate chapter and beat the fierce competition at the Kobushi Dojo.
This penultimate chapter, as expected, is a marginal jump in difficulty from previous ones, encouraging you to bring your A-Game and apply everything you’ve learned up to this point to emerge victorious. While it won’t be too much of a problem if you’ve been breezing through, newcomers may find this area the first ‘Skill Check’ of their journey.
Kobushi Dojo Overview In Tekken 8
Being thepenultimate chapterof Tekken 8’s Arcade Quest,Kobushi Dojo’scompetition is full of fighters of theVanquisher, Destroyer, and Eliminator Ranks,placing them at a significantly higher skill range than the previous chapters.
If youtackled everything Gong, Phoenix, Wonder City, and Neptunehad to offer, you should be entering Kobushi Dojo as aDestroyer-Rankedplayer, making your skill level more in line with your competition. Furthermore, if youdo everything available in this chapter,you should leave as aGaryu-Rankedplayer, making you more than prepared for the final chapter.
Again, whileleveling up in Arcade Quest won’t net you any bonusessuch as more damage or defense, it willallow you toget more matches under your belt against many different playstyles and characters,giving you crucial experience that can be applied to the later chapters.

As we covered above,Kobushi Dojo is the penultimate chapterof Tekken 8’s Arcade Quest, offering lots of matches for you to partake in to earn lots of EXP, Fight Money, and even unique Cosmetics for your Avatar. Here, you partake in20 Standard Matchesandtwo Treasure Box Fightsand can tackletwo of Max’s Challengesfor additional rewards.
Checking off everything Kobushi Dojo haswill take you fromDestroyer to Garyu,setting you up perfectly for the final chapter, which has steep competition, as you may have already expected. If you’re a newcomer to Tekken, we highly suggest doing everything leading up to the final chapter!
Toreach Garyu Rank before the final chapter,you mustcomplete everything from the previous five chapters,which includes the Kobushi Dojo. If you’re a beginner and are new to the series, we highly suggest doing this, as it willprovide you with more experience across the board, preparing you for the final battles.It will also earn you a hefty sum of Fight Money, which is always good!
All Kobushi Dojo Challenges
Upon entering Kobushi Dojo for the first time,Max will offer you a Tutorial on how to properly punish your opponent’s attacks,making the first Challenge of the chapter a breeze once you get it down.
If youturned down his teachings,don’t worry; you’re able to still access it byspeaking to Maxand selecting the ‘Run Tutorial’ option from the menu. Once here, select the ‘Tell Me About Punishment Techniques!’ option from the dropdown menu. Apply what he teaches you here to complete the first Challenge.
Yoursecond Challenge,however, involves you landing acombo that deals 70+ Damage,which can be a bit harder to pull off. For this, we recommendhaving your opponent drop your HP downfar enough to be put into Rage, thenactivate your Rage Art mid-combo or after landing a Launcher or Tornado attack,whichever works best for you and your character!
