The world ofArk: Survival Ascendedis filled with various creatures, and some of them even resemble the animals you can find in the real world. Carbonemys is one such dinosaur since it has a massive shell just like a turtle, and it also walks quite slowly as long as it’s on land.

Carbonemys will likely be one of the first dinosaurs you’ll spot when you spawn into the game for the first time since they’re quite common. You also won’t have a particularly hard time if you want to tame one, as long as you have a few required items.

Carbonemys Taming Process

If you want to get a Carbonemys, you’ll first have to get a bow or a crossbow along with some Tranq Arrows. These arrows can becreated in the crafting tab using one Stone Arrow and Narcotic. After locating a Carbonemys that you want to tame, start shooting its face with Tranq Arrows until it goes down.

While the face is the best spot, you may also attack the turtle on its legs, but make sure to not attack its shell.

Thissignificantly reduces its damage taken, which also reduces the effect of Tranq Arrows.

Once down, you can put any berry in its inventory to start the taming process. As it gets hungry,it’ll start eating your berries and progress the tame bar. If you’re not in the early game, you can also try crops like Fresh Barley and Wheat to make this process a little faster. Once the taming finishes, you can put on a Carbonemys Saddle and ride the dinosaur.

What Is Carbonemys Used For?

Much like turtles in real life, Carbonemys are quite slow when you’re walking on land. However, they havehigh speed and mobility as soon as you enter waterthat’s deep enough for them to swim. This allows you to get to the underwater resources with a lot more safety than normally swimming to them.

Another thing to remember is that Carbonemys has a massive shell that reduces its damage taken. This allows you todefend against difficult enemies while you try to either defeat them or run away.
