Even though they won’t be able to take on learning the Fitness skill quite yet once they’ve mastered the Motor skill, inThe Sims 4, your most Active children can pursue their life of fitness early on. With a wealth of endless energy in their youth, these Sims just need to get up and move!
We sure hope you either have some playground equipment at home or live near one of the public parks, though, since these Motor-minded Sims will want to spend ample time on the jungle gym and monkey bars. We miss the days of being this nimble…

How To Level Up A Child’s Motor Skill
The wiggliest of Toddler Sims are likely to want to grow up to be active Children Sims, and who can blame them? In fact, the aspiration related to the Motor skill for Children Sims is even calledRambunctious Scamp.
Ithelps to choose thisaspiration, since it makes your Child Sim far more likely to not only want to do things related to building their Motor skill, but they’ll be earning plenty of Satisfaction Points for doing so along the way.

Since the Motor skill is an incrediblyphysical skillcentered on your Child Sim getting the most of theirexercise and physical playtime, you won’t be surprised to learn that the majority of the Motor skill comes fromjungle gyms and playground equipment.
If you can’t afford your own playground equipment on your home lot, it’s a good idea to live near some of the many parks scattered throughout the worlds in The Sims 4 - they often have public playgrounds.

Any time your Child Sim is feelingEnergized, make use of their moodlets and get to moving to gain the Motor skill a bit faster!
And though plenty of their play will need to take place outdoors, the most active Sims need not get restless on rainy days - they’re able topractice typingon computers to work on their Motor skill indoors.

Helpful Traits To Make Your Child More Agile
As Motor skills are best built while in anEnergized mood, your child Sim would do well to havea few traitsthat make that more likely to occur naturally.
Provided they’ve been cared for in their Toddler days, you’ll be allowed tochoose one traitwhen they age up into Children. And if you’re trying to build the Motor skill, some traits are more helpful than others.
Naturally, theActive traitis a great choice, as this allows your Child to not only feel more Energized themselves, but to spread that energy to their friends and teammates as well.
But, if you don’t want to go for the obvious or have plans to grab that trait later on, and since there are plenty of boosts and buffs centered aroundplayground equipment, theLoves Outdoors traitcan help, as they’ll be spending quite a lot of time playing outside.
Unless you’re trying to purposely challenge yourself, you’d do well toavoid the Lazy trait, as it will result in pretty extreme discomfort and tension when performing any physical activity.
Every Level Of The Motor Skill
Detailed below is every level milestone in the childhood Motor skill in The Sims 4.
Interestingly, a lot of it is focused on Monkey Bars specifically, so it’s a good idea to either buy them or live near a public lot with Monkey Bars so your Child Sim can take the fullest advantage.
Unlike the other three Child skills in The Sims 4, there are no adulthood skills that unlock once a Child Sim reaches level ten in the Motor Skill.
Workout gear is age-restricted, so they can’t begin to work out and build their Athletic skill until they age up.
