With the completion ofMario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Booster Course DLC, the number of playable courses in the game has doubled from the 48 at launch, to 96. There are now 12 more cups to play through in the game, each featuring a set of 4 courses, most from previousMario Kartgames, but a couple of original additions too.
While this has made some of the best courses in the series' history playable on the Switch, some are not as great. However, every cup has at least one track that stands above the rest. So, what are the best tracks in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC, and what is the best track in each cup?

12Coconut Mall
Originally From Wii - Golden Dash Cup
Perhaps the most iconic original track to be featured in Mario Kart Wii is Coconut Mall. The course has a varied and fun layout, with the setting of a mall helping it stand out from pretty much every other track theme in the series.
Many have pointed out that this adaptation lacks some of the charm the original Wii version had, namely the lack of Miis driving the cars, but it is still the best track in the Golden Dash Cup.

11Ninja Hideaway
Originally From Tour - Lucky Cat Cup
The courses original to Mario Kart Tour were a hit-and-miss when added to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. While some lacked the standard for vision and creativity held by the other original tracks in the series, others managed to reach the level and make the switch from mobile to console successfully.
Thevaried routes and challenge featuredin Ninja Hideaway make it one of thestrongest courses featuredin the DLC pack!

10Waluigi Pinball
Originally From DS - Turnip Cup
In spite of being a handheld iteration in the series, Mario Kart DS spawned some of the best original tracks in series history, and seeing these get a modern polish in Mario Kart 8 is always a treat.
Waluigi Pinball is one of the most iconic tracks from Mario Kart DS, and seeing it for the first time in a console entry is amazing, and a perfect addition to the DLC pack.

9Mushroom Gorge
Originally From Wii - Propeller Cup
With how synonymous mushrooms, and fungi in general, are to the Mario series, it is no wonder that there are so many courses based around them.
That is why it is almost surprising that a course like Mushroom Gorge stands out so much, but the bouncing mushrooms this course is built around are what makes it so much fun. It looked amazing back on Wii, and it looks even better in 8 Deluxe.

8Maple Treeway
Originally From Wii - Rock Cup
Part of the reason why Mario Kart Wii is so fondly remembered by fans of the series is how many of the tracks had a strong atmosphere, and this is part of the reason why the cozy Maple Treeway is so entertaining.
The course looks stunning with the updated Switch visuals, and the subtle changes made to make it fit in with the other 8 Deluxe tracks are why it is one you will keep coming back to.

7Rainbow Road
Originally From 7 - Moon Cup
One of the most consistent traditions in Mario Kart’s storied history is a new Rainbow Road in every entry. These tracks are known for being challenging and including memorable theming.
The new Rainbow Road in Mario Kart 7 knew it had big shoes to fill, following Rainbow Road from Wii, but it managed to match the energy with one extended lap, and plenty of varied cosmic obstacles.

6Yoshi’s Island
Original Course - Fruit Cup
While Yoshi has been a mainstay of the Mario Kart series, his own series of games has been mostly ignored, with tracks themed after him usually going for a more simple egg motif.
That is why the original track Yoshi’s Island is so appreciated, with it being a love letter to Yoshi’s games and anyone who has played them. The style of the track stands out and makes it a clear highlight of the Fruit Cup.

5Singapore Speedway
Originally From Tour - Boomerang Cup
The city-themed tracks that were adapted from Mario Kart Tour are quite varied in quality in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Some felt a little generic and too based in reality, while others took full advantage of their real-life inspiration, and took it to the next level.
One of the best is Singapore Speedway which has an almost completely unique lap for each of the three runs you will do, and has amazing pacing to match.

4Moonview Highway
Originally From Wii - Feather Cup
Another memorable track that is part of the reason why Mario Kart Wii has such a strong legacy is Moonview Highway.
Some of the best tracks in a Mario Kart game are those where you drive alongside other NPC cars that act as obstacles, and Moonview Highway is perhaps the peak of this design choice. The city streets have a strong atmosphere, with the details on the posters and billboards giving the track a fun replay value.

3Koopa Cape
Originally From Wii - Cherry Cup
Riding through Koopa Cape in Mario Kart Wii always felt like riding a water slide, and it is amazing how well that feeling was adapted in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
While the laps aren’t particularly long, the variety throughout each section makes it feel like an adventure each time. The changes with antigravity also ensure that the track is not a 1:1 recreation of the Wii version, and improves it for the better.
