Summary

InPokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk, there is a mechanic you’ll be introduced to called the Synchro Machine. This little Key Item allows you to inhabit a Pokemon of your choice and move around the map in their shoes if they had any. It functions similarly to throwing your Pokemon out with the Let’s Go feature.

Any Pokemon in your trainer’s Pokedex can be used in this way, including all the Pokemon in both DLC. Fast Pokemon, lazy ones, funny ones. There are so many options to explore. But who are some of the best Pokemon to use with the Synchro Machine?

Slakoth sitting on a cliff looking out over the land while using the Synchro Machine.

This list is composed of both silly choices and some of the fastest Pokemon that you can play as while using the Synchro Machine.

11Slakoth

Truly the Slacker Pokemon

Everyone should try Slakoth at least once. As you can imagine, this Pokemon has very little speed. They can’t go in water. But they can make you chuckle, and isn’t laughter the best medicine?

This isn’t a Pokemon for traversing the map quickly. And, unfortunately, because of the Synchro Machine’s design, they can’t really climb. Though having this Pokemon laid out, pulling themselves forward with their arms is a silly sight to behold and can be a fun way to pass the time while waiting for a wonder trade to finish or for a friend to get online.

Wugtrio hiding inside of their rock while using the Synchro Machine

10Wugtrio

Would you still love me if I were a few worms hiding inside a rock?

You have to give the Pokemon Company applause for sticking with the bit on this one. As you may be familiar with Wugtrio’s design, this Water-Type Pokemoninhabits a rock, tucking themselves inside when anything gets too close that scares them.

So you may have asked yourself, what happens when you use the Synchro Machine with them? The answer is that you basically become the rock that is the base of their design. When you stay motionless, their little heads pop out to look around the area, but the moment you start to move, they quickly retreat back inside while their rock moves around the map.

Hisuian Lilligant skating through the grass while using the Synchro Machine

9Hisuian Lilligant

Shadow called; he wants his shoes back

If you playedPokemon Legends: Arceus, you’ve most likely encountered the Hisuian version of Lilligant while playing through the story. If you transfer them into Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, you may want to use the Synchro Machine on them at least once.

Hisuian Lilligant is a graceful yet powerful dancer, and their movements while using the Synchro Machine on them really drives that home. They skate across the ground, swaying their arms back and forth. You can’t help but think of Shadow The Hedgehog though, which may be good or bad depending on your feelings toward him. The downside is that they lack his speed, taking their time as they move across the map.

Toedscool running around, being goofy while using the Synchro Machine

8Toedscool

Play some old cartoon running sound effects in the background.

Toedscool was introduced in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet and quickly became a favorite because of both their name and their running animation. And you might be wondering if that’s the way they dash around while using the Synchro Machine.

Yes. Yes it is. This little friend has the goofiest little run both while under the effects of the Machine and when they aren’t. And unlike some of the silly Pokemon you can try out, Toedscool is actually quite fast. You won’t break any speed records by any means, but if you want to explore the Blueberry Academy map, there are worse options.

Quaquaval running through the grass while using the Synchro Machine

7Quaquaval

Everyone knows about the run, right?

There are several reasons to give Quaquaval a try with the Synchro Machine. Some funny, others practical. Why not get the silly ones out of the way? When Scarlet & Violet first launched, Quaquaval’s signature and iconic run took the internet by storm. Thanks to the Synchro Machine, you, too, can run like Quaquaval.

The more serious reason you may want to try out this particular Pokemon is that they’re actually quite speedy on the ground. This allows you to put quite a bit of distance between them and your trainer quickly. However, strange enough, this duck-based Pokemon is pretty slow once they get into the water.

Zebstriker looking charged up with electric energy while using the Synchro Machine

You may not want to stray too far from your Trainer while using faster Pokemon. If a shiny Pokemon spawns, they will disappear when you exit the Synchro Machine.

6Zebstrika

As fast as a bolt of lightning

Zebstrika made a triumphant return in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet after being missing from Pokemon games for a while. What better way to celebrate their return than to run around the Blueberry Academy Terrarium as them? You won’t be sorry if you do.

This Pokemon is all about speed, both in battle and through the Synchro Machine. you’re able to cover great distances while running as this majestic Pokemon. Just avoid those peskyGround-Type Pokemon.

Ceruledge running quickly across the screen while using the Synchro Machine

5Ceruledge

Naruto-run in style

If you’ve ever had Ceruledge running beside you thanks to the Let’s Go feature of the game, you’ve probably noticed that they can keep up with ease. They’re so speedy that even the camera struggles to keep up.

One thing to be mindful of, however, is that many Ground and Water-Type Pokemon make up the Blueberry Academy’s Terrarium. And just like with Let’s Go, the Synchro Pokemon will challenge any other Mon they run into.

Meowscarada going through their idle animation while using the Synchro Machine

4Meowscarada

Naruto-running, part two

Why yes, you can run like Naruto while using the Synchro Machine on Meowscarada. But that’s not the only reason they’re one of the best Pokemon to use with this feature. They are fast, plain and simple.

This bipedal cat is very effective against a great number of Pokemon you may accidentally run into. Their speed is slower than Ceruledge, so that Grass-Type really helps make the experience more enjoyable. But, like in real life, this cat doesn’t appreciate the water.

Walking Wake standing in the Canyon Biome while using the Synchro Machine

3Walking Wake And Suicune

Have you ever wanted to walk on water?

Walking Wake and Suicune share one uncommon trait with each other, and that is the ability to walk on water. There are Pokemon that can both walk on land and swim, but no one does it quite like these two.

Suicune is much faster on both land and water than Walking Wake, but Walking Wake deserves some of the spotlight since they’re a bit harder to get a hold of.Walking Wake is only available through special Tera Raid events.

Kilowattrel flying above the grass while using the Synchro Machine

2Kilowattrel

Fly my pretty

As a general rule with the Synchro Machine, Pokemon who fly or hover aren’t restricted by obstacles like other Pokemon are. But one of the Flying-Type Pokemon that is best to play as is Kilowattrel.

Kilowattrel is incredibly fast, making it so that you can cover so much ground with ease. You’ll still have to be aware of where any Ground or Rock Pokemon are, but since you are in the sky, albeit not very high up, you can react and swerve out of the way.
