Storyborn characters are incredibly useful, but not all of them are as helpful as others. With a little bit of help, you’ll know which cards to add to your deck to make it stronger and claim victory.

Peter Pan’s Shadow is a great card to play, as it hasboth Evasive and Rush. In addition to that, Tiptoegrants each of your other characters with Rush the ability to be Evasiveas well, making them harder to hit. They caninitiate challenges and avoid being targeted by non-evasive characters.

With acost of four, this is not a card that can be played early, but it’s immensely useful if you haveseveral Rush characters in your deck. With a good strategy, you caneasily frustrate your opponents.

Lady Tremaine is known for her cruelty and unfairness, so it’s only right that her cards reflect that. This Storyborn version of Lady Tremaine,when played, takes one lore from each opponent that has more lore than you. This helps bring the stakes back down,buying you more time to win.

This is agreat card for multiplayer, as you’re able to reduce the lore of each opponent by one when played. While Lady Tremaine can onlyquest for one lore, her ability can be incredibly useful in a pinch.

As a rabbit,Merlin has Hoppity Hip!, which makes him an excellent addition to your deck.When he is played, you may draw a card. You can alsodraw a card when he leaves play, whether he is banished, discarded, or what have you.

With the addition of cards in Rise of the Floodborn thatallow you to discard cards and put them back into your hand, Merlin becomes a useful resource that canincrease your card draw. With an increased card draw, you have more options for your turn.

Shang is a powerful unit, especially with his ability. With Archery Lesson,your characters will gain Evasive for the turn whenever he quests, meaning that they canchallenge other evasive characters. He can alsoquest for two lore, and with adefense of six, he can withstand challenges.

Whenpaired with other charactersin the deck, he can enhance them,making them more effective and difficult to banish. With acost of five, it will take a while to play Shang, but it’s worth the wait.

Nick Wilde is a sly fox, and his ability reflects that. TheIt’s Called A Hustleability allows you toreturn a Pawpsicle from your discard pile to your handwhen played. Pawpsicle is a useful card that can grant healing and card draw, and having multiple copies of Nick initiates a loop.

With acost of four, you’re able to arrange your cards to helpbring him in towards the middleof the game, hopefully tohelp your damaged charactersrecover with the Pawpsicle in play.

With a cost of three, she’s a useful character to have. Herattack is only two, and her defense is three, but she can helpgain lore quickly by discardingyour cards.

Scar has Rush, so he canchallenge as soon as he is played. With anattack of six, he can easily banish characters that have a smaller amount of health. His ability compliments this strength, making him a viable card to play.

Daddy Isn’t Here To Save Youallows you toready Scar againwhenever he successfullychallenges and banishes a characterin your turn. While he can’t quest during the turn, the right combo can keep Scar going as you banish your opponent’s characters.

Mufasa has ahigh cost for relatively low health and defense, but heshines when banished, ironically. The Sun Will Set activates when Mufasa is banished, allowing you to reveal the top card of your deck. If the card is a character, you may play them immediately for free.

They’ll enter play exerted, making them vulnerable, but depending on the card, you mayreap other benefitsas well. If you don’t draw a character card,put it backon the top of your deck again.

Hiram Flaversham is a uniquely beneficial card. With adefense of six, he’s meant to quest, but not for lore. Playing Hiram Flaversham lets youbanish one item to draw two cards. You may do this whenever he quests as well. As long as he isn’t challenged (or survives the encounter) you can continue tobanish items for card draw.

With acost of four, he enters a bit later, but will be a game changer if youspend your first few turns playing different itemsto be prepared.

Beast is a beast, to be frank. While hecosts six to play, Second Wind cannot be underestimated. Any time an opposing character damaged, be it in a challenge or as the result of a targeted action, you may ready Beast. While you could use him to continue attacking, there’s a better way to go.

There’s no limit to questing with Beast, Relentless. Therefore, you cankeep questing each time any opposing character takes damage. When paired with Robin Hood, Capable Fighter, the risks are minimized.
