Daisy Duck isanother uncommon cardthat has a great ability in play. Shegains two lore each time she quests, and each time she quests, each opponent at the table mustchoose a card to discard. In a two-player game, this is effective, but it reallyshines in multiplayer.

Having Daisy Duckin play earlywill enable you tomake your opponents cycle throughtheir cards. You’llkeep them on their toeswhile reaping the benefits of your Emerald deck. She onlycosts four ink to play, so she can be played relatively early compared to other cards.

Prince John is an early contender, and while he’snot very strongcompared to other cards in Rise of the Floodborn, hisabilities help him stand out. To start,he has Ward, which prevents characters from choosing himexcept to challenge. Additionally, hegains two lore for questing, which with acost of three ink, can be used early to get ahead.

The real benefit to Prince John is his ability:I Sentence You. Whenever your opponent discards one or more cards, you maydraw a card equal to the amount of cards discarded. When paired with cards like Daisy Duck, you cangreatly increase the use of this cardand cycle through your own deck.

Hero

There aremultiple Beast cardsthat can be played, and with Shift, you canget Beast, Tragic Hero into play much earlierthan usual. He hasstrong defense and decent offense, making him a stalwart character to play. Additionally, he has an ability that makes him even stronger.

It’s Better This Waygrants Beast a boonwhether he’s taken damage or not. If he has no damage at the start of your turn, you may draw an additional card. If he has taken damage,his attack gets increased by fourfor the turn for a total of seven, making him a true beast.

Christopher Robin is anincredibly useful card, especially when you haveother characters in play. He has strong defense, meaning hecan quest and likely surviveuntil your next turn. Additionally, hegains two lore from questing.

The benefit to Christopher Robin is thatyou gain an additional two lore whenever he is readiedand there areat least two other characters in play. It doesn’t matter what two characters, either, meaning you’re able to easilykeep two cost-effective characters on the boardto get the bonus.

Sorcerer

Madam Mim can be adangerous addition to your opponent’s deck, so it’s best to include her in yours. With Shift, shecan enter play before your opponent is readyto handle her, and she has decent defense. When you exert her, you canplay a character with a cost of four or less for free.

That character gains Rushand will bebanished at the end of the turn. This works well with several Merlin cards from Rise of the Floodborn, as his abilities activate when he is played and when he is banished. A strong strategy can make good use of the card.

Tiana is apowerful addition to your deck. With acost of fourink to play, she can be added mid-game to shake things up. WithResist two, all damage dealt to her is reduced by two, making herincredibly lucrative to quest with, as she’s not likely to be banished.

Additionally,What You Give Is What You Getkeeps opponents fromplaying actions when Tiana is exertedand you haveno other cards in your hand. This ability cannot be underestimated as you get into late-game tactics.

Floodborn

Cogsworthnot only has Shift, which can introduce him earlier than your opponent is ready for, but healso has Ward. Which both of these in play,he’s a formidable allyto go up against, especially withhis defense of five. Each time he quests,you’ll gain two lore.

He has another ability called Unwind, whichgrants each of your other characters Resist. Reducing the damage taken by one for each character is a powerful move, andit can stack on characters who already have Resist, making them even stronger.

Queen

Lady Tremaine is a formidable foe, especially when it comes to entering the game. When she is played,each opponent must choose and banish one of their characterson the board, leveling the playing field in your favor. She alsogains two lore each time she quests.

With acost of six, it’s worth the effort toutilize Shift and get her into playsooner than later. This can easily throw your opponent’s strategy off byforcing them to banish a character, especially in the early stages of setting up the game.

Cinderella hasboth strong defense and offense, which makes her a force to be reckoned with. Herhigh cost can be reduced by using Shiftto play her for a cost of five instead atop another Cinderella card, though she’ll stillenter play much laterthan most. However, she has Resist two, which means that damage taken is reduced by two.

WithThe Singing Sword, you’ll want to haveplenty of songsin your deck. Whenever one is played,Cinderella can challenge ready charactersin that turn, which can be devastating for your opponents.
