Weapons can define how strong or how weak your character will be inGenshin Impact. Most of them are locked behind the wishing system, and for a five-star weapon, you’re going to need a lot of primogems. However, there are four-star weapons that can be just as powerful as their five-star counterparts.
Despite five-star weapons giving better stats, it will take you an absurd amount of wishes to get one, along with some luck. Four-star weapons are much more accessible and allow you to get refinements more easily, which doubles their power. If given to the right characters, and with enough refinements, these four-star weapons are definitely worth using for both DPS and support.

Best Four-Star Polearms
Polearms allow the user to perform fast strikes and have a longer reach compared to other melee weapons while dealing moderate damage.
DPS - The Catch
The Catchis one of the best free-to-play weapons in the game. At max refinement, which can be obtained through fishing, this weapon is strong enough to rival even five-stars.
Its passive increases Burst DMG by up to 32 percent, and Burst CRIT Rate by up to 12 percent. This effect, paired with its ER secondary stat, allows it to provide a multitude of stats and makes building your characters much easier.

Support - Favonius Lance
In the lore, the Favonius weapons are the signature weapons used by the Knights of Favonius. In gameplay, this weapon line is just as reliable as it provides much-needed Energy, not just for the character using it, but for the whole team.
Its passive allows you to generate Energy Particles after landing a CRIT Hit on an enemy, which will regenerate Energy for all party members. This is an extremely valuable weapon, and is a staple in all teams, as it allows you to consistently get all your Elemental Bursts back up.

Best Four-Star Claymores
Claymores hit much slower than other melee weapons, with the trade-off of dealing significantly higher damage per strike.
DPS - Serpent Spine
Serpent Spinehas a reputation for being one of the best four-star weapons in the game, being powerful enough to rival and even beat other five-star weapons. Its CRIT Rate secondary stat makes balancing your CRIT Ratio a lot more comfortable compared to ATK percent or ER weapons.
Its passive provides up to a massive 30 percent DMG Bonus, albeit at the cost of needing to dodge or having a shielder, as receiving DMG will reduce the amount of DMG Bonus you can get. With the right set up, this weapon can easily outclass most five-star claymores in the game.

Support - Favonius Greatsword
Just like Favonius Lance,Favonius Greatswordis a valuable weapon that you should use on your support characters.Energy-hungry characters, such as Beidouand Noelle, will greatly appreciate the utility it brings to their Burst.
Aside from the typical Energy Particle-generation passive, it also has a significantly higher amount of ER compared to other Favonius weapons. This allows you to get your Burst every single rotation, which is essential for support characters and enablers.

Best Four-Star Swords
Swords are the middle ground when it comes to melee weapons, having faster speed than claymores and moderately higher damage than polearms.
DPS - Amenoma Kageuchi
WithAmenoma Kageuchi, you won’t need to worry about your Ayaka or Ayato not having their Burst back. Its Energy restoration passive and massive ATK percent secondary stat provide a balanced mix of utility and damage.
Its passive lets you gain a Succession Seed after casting aSkill, up to three stacks. All seeds will then be consumed after casting a Burst, and the holder will regenerate a fixed amount of Energy for each seed consumed.

Support - Favonius Sword
Yet another member of the Favonius line, theFavonius Swordholds a lot more value compared to its counterparts. This is because the sword class has significantly more support characters than other weapon classes.
Like Favonius Greatsword, this sword has lower Base ATK in exchange for its massive ER secondary stat. It’s often the best accessible support weapon forcharacters such as Kazuha, Jean, Furina, Xingqiu, Kirara, Layla, Lynette, and the Traveler, giving it very high demand and value.

Best Four-Star Catalysts
Catalysts are special weapons that are naturally imbued with magic, allowing characters of this class to freely deal Elemental DMG with their Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks.
DPS - The Widsith
With its rare CRIT DMG stat, which is mostly given to five-star or Battle Pass weapons, it’s hard to believe thatThe Widsithis a four-star, especially since it’s also easier to refine. This weapon provides a huge boost in damage while making balancing your CRIT Ratio more comfortable.
Its passive can provide massive amounts of one of three buffs: ATK, Elemental DMG Bonus, and Elemental Mastery. Giving this weapon toa character that can trigger Elemental Reactionswill allow them to deal huge damage as they’ll be able to benefit from all three buffs.

Support - Prototype Amber
Prototype Ambermight seem underwhelming due to its HP secondary stat, but this weapon comes with the unique ability of turning any catalyst user into a healer. After using your Burst, the entire team will be healed based on their Max HP for six seconds.
Additionally, you also generate Energy for yourself so you can get your Burst back up and keep healing. This effect makes Prototype Amber not only good on actual healers like Barbara and Kokomi, but also allows non-healers to take their place on top of the other utility that they provide.

Best Four-Star Bows
Bows are long-ranged weapons that can hit enemies from a distance. Doing Charged Attacks allows you to hit enemies with precise aim and unlimited range, and a fully-Charged Attack deals Elemental DMG.
DPS - Song Of Stillness
Unlike other DPS options that can only buff a certain type of damage,Song of Stillnesscan grant DMG Bonus for every part of the user’s kit, and is a versatile option for any bow DPS character. Its passive increases DMG dealt by up to 32 percent after the user gets healed, and provides a good ATK percent buff with its secondary stat.
Despite its passive requiring the user to be healed, you only need to be under the effect of healing and not actually have your HP restored. This means the passive will still work even if the user is at full HP.

Support - Favonius Warbow
You can get theFavonius Warbowfor free after finishing A Long Shot, which is a segment of the Mondstadt Archon Quest. This makes it a more accessible weapon that you can get without needing to spend any of your Primogems.
Like the rest of the Favonius series, this weapon holds immense value by allowing the user to battery the whole team and provide Energy Particles, ensuring that you can always get your Burst back. This is especially good on characters like Venti, Collei, Diona, Faruzan, Gorou and Yelan.
