Summary

When looked at in isolation, Selene seems like a bad card forMarvel Snapsince its On Reveal makes the lowest power card on each player’s hands have -3 power. But you can build around her, letting you be sure that her effect will benefit you no matter what she hits.

As such, Selene is not a card that you may add to any deck, like Nebula or Sunspot. She needs proper support that allows her to fulfill her goals, and fortunately for you, there are already plenty of cards that synergize with her rather well.

Marvel Snap Card The Hood

9The Hood

Two Cards In One

The Hood can be a versatile card if you use the tools right, since the card initially played has -3 power, while the Demon it gives you has 6. If you manage to send The Hood to your opponent’s side of the Board, it will make a one energy card give you up to 9 power.

Of course, you’ll need other cards in order to send The Hood over since that isn’t built into the card. You’ll notice that within this list, the only card capable of doing so is Annihilus, so if you think that isn’t enough, consider adding Viper to the deck as well.

Marvel Snap Card Shadow King

8Shadow King

A Solution To Your Selene

Shadow King might seem like a strange addition to the deck since he restores cards to their original power, but there are reasons to have him in alongside Selene. For starters, there are plenty of cards that gain power that get completely nullified by Shadow King, like Blob or Sebastian Shaw.

The King can also restore your own cards to their proper power since you won’t always have something ideal in hand for Selene to hit. Just make sure to play the affected card in a different location than your opponent, so Shadow King isn’t helping them.

Marvel Snap Card Ravonna Renslayer

7Ravonna Renslayer

Goblins Played For Cheap

Ravonna Renslayer’s ongoing abilityreduces the cost of cards with one or less power, but only by one. The main use of this is to have a powerful Goblin finish, since Ravonna lets you play both Green Goblin and Hobgoblin at turn six.

But that’s not her only use since, as mentioned before, you won’t always hit what you want with Selene. On times when you hit something other than the goblins, Ravonna will make that card cheaper to play, and you’re able to then restore said card to full power with Shadow King.

Marvel Snap Card Maximus

6Maximus

Raw Power

Maximus used to be one of the most powerful three drops in the game, with a negative ability (drawing two cards for your opponent) that you could play around with. As a two-drop, however, he’s the single most powerful card for the cost, becoming a must-have for many decks.

As for how he fits on the deck, he’s mostly relegated to the final turns of the game, where his ability to make your opponent draw won’t affect you. He can be played on the final turn with either Sentry or a cost-reduced Hobgoblin, so plan your Maximus play accordingly.

Marvel Snap Cards Hobgoblin and Green Goblin

5Green Goblin And Hobgoblin

The Danger Duo

We already mentioned the power of a double Goblin final play, but that depends highly on the deck your opponent is playing; you need free space on their side of the board after all. This is why you need to consider what your opponent is doing before placing your Goblins.

Usually, you want to wait for things like Destroy decks to play Carnage or Bounce decks to play Beast before you commit to a Goblin play. Thanks to Selene, this Goblin play will be even more devastating, so you’ll need to make sure that the card sticks on their side of the board.

Marvel Snap Card Black Widow

4Black Widow

Widow’s Bite Is The Real Star

Any junk deck is made better with Black Widow, even after her cost increase, since the Widow’s Bite she sends is highly disruptive. Said card is placed on your opponent’s hand, has -1 power, and they won’t be able to draw cards until they play the Bite.

The synergy with other cards is great, so you shouldn’t play Black Widow at any moment. On turn four, you may play Widow with Selene, making the Bite a -4 card, or on turn five, you can play Widow before Maximus, negating his drawing effect altogether.

Marvel Snap Card Debrii

3Debrii

Roll Out The Rocks

Debrii has always been a core part of junk decks, and while she remains so on this list, you need to be careful when playing her; you don’t have as many ways as other decks to deal with the rocks.

If you’re struggling with the rocks, consider how they affect every other card. With a discounted Green Goblin, you can play both him and Debrii at turn five (Green Goblin should always go first), and if you’re planning on playing Sentry later, filling a location with a rock can avoid the Void.

the sentry card from Marvel Snap

2Sentry

A Possible 20 Power Play

While Sentry adds a lot of power to either the left or middle locations, his power is diminished by the addition of the Void, a -10 power card that appears in the right location. To play Sentry correctly is to decide early on what you’ll do with that negative power.

While most of the time you’ll want to send it over with Annihilus, you won’t draw that card all the time, so you should have some backup plans. You can always just abandon that location, making your opponent think that you are counting on it and have them spend resources on an already won side.

Annihilus card from Marvel Snap

1Annihilus

His Ability Affects All Locations

While these are the best cards for Selene, the deck functions very differently depending on when you draw Annihilus, if at all. When considering each card’s placement, you’ll have to gauge where your negative cards will go and if you can do without Annihilus’s ability to send them over.

He’s why there’s no other card in the deck to deal with your own junk, since his effect triggers on every single location. If you’re dealing with a mirror match, consider losing priority; the last Annihilus played is the one with the last laugh.
