In the remake ofSquare’s1996 classicSuper Mario RPGfor theNintendo Switch, numerous accessories can be found throughout the game, which can be used to augment the gameplay to your liking, modifying and buffing the different stats and attributes of your party.
As well as those existing in the original game, the remake also adds brand-new accessories to play with. This list will explore some of the best choices to pick, what they do, and where they can be found. Mix and match to create your preferred style.

Boosts Speed and Defense
Nimbus Castle
If successfully avoided, the Feather accessory will be dropped by Dodo in Nimbus Castle, or, alternatively, can also be bought from Toad in Moleville for 250 coins.
Once equipped, the Feather accessory will boost Speed by 20 points, as well as increase Defense and Magical Defense by five points both. An increased speed stat will allow you to attack first in battles, making this a worthwhile attribute to raise.

Boosts EXP gain
Seaside Town
As the name would suggest, the EXP Booster accessory does just what you might imagine. When equipped, this accessory will double the amount of experience points earned during battles for whatever character it is currently equipped on.
The EXP Booster can be purchased from the frog store in the Seaside Town. With the use of this accessory, characters who would otherwise receive fewer experience points can be kept evenly leveled with the rest of your party.

Boosts Attack and Speed
Land’s End
What the Troopa Medal does is simple: this accessory boosts your Attack by 50 percent and your Speed by 20 points. As simple as this may be, however, that doesn’t translate into this accessory being unhelpful.
The Troopa Medal can be received in Land’s End after completing the Paratroopa race and speaking with Sergeant Flutter. Either attribute alone wouldn’t be remarkable, but combined they render this accessory a viable choice if you’re looking to augment your offensive ability.

Prevents fainting
Marrymore
The Enduring Brooch is a late-game item, and as such will not be as immediately useful as some of the other accessories more readily available in the game. Nevertheless, this accessory has the notable effect of preventing your character from fainting once per battle.
During the post-game, if Bundt and Raspberry are once again defeated, you will be rewarded with the Enduring Brooch, an item that may prove useful when facing off against further bosses in the game.

Doubles Defense
Monstro Town
When exploring Monstro Town, a side quest can be activated that will see you backtrack through several earlier locations in the game in search of flags that have been hidden there. Once these flags are discovered, the reward will be this useful accessory: the Ghost Medal.
The Ghost Medal doubles your Defense, effectively halving incoming damage. This makes it a solid defensive option if you find yourself succumbing to more powerful enemies later on in the game.

All stats increase
Looking for a boost across the board? Want a little bit of everything and don’t want to have to pick and choose? Then consider equipping the Attack Scarf. This accessory boasts a flat 30 point increase in all stats across the board, from Defense to Attack to Speed.

This makes it one of the more universally useful accessories in the game, as no other accessory can offer as much of a boost in comparison. It can be received in Monstro Town after completing 30 Super Jumps in a row.
Negate status effects

Sunken Ship
When equipped, the Safety Badge will boost both physical Defense and Magical Defense by a modest five points apiece. This pales in comparison to the true function of this badge, however.
The true use of the Safety Badge lies in its ability to negate all status effects, effectively replacing the usage of several other accessories which can be found earlier. The Safety Chest can be obtained in the Sunken Ship by defeating the chest that holds it.

Prevents mortal blows
Prevents status effects

When equipped, the Safety Ring will protect against attacks that would otherwise instantly incapacitate a character. Like its earlier counterpart, the Safety Badge, the Safety Ring will also protect against status afflictions, as well as a 70 percent reduction in elemental damage.
If that wasn’t enough, the cherry on top is that it also increases physical Defense, Magical Defense, and Speed each by five points. The Safety Ring can be found in a hidden chest in the Sunken Ship area.
Increases in stats
While the Jinx Belt does not boast as high of a stat increase as offered by the Attack Scarf, coming in at a comparatively smaller increase of 27 Attack, 27 physical Defense, and 12 Speed, this accessory also has a secondary function that makes it more than worth having. It also defends against mortal blows.
The Jinx Belt can be obtained in Monstro Town after completing a series of fights against Jinx.
Increases all stats
The Quartz Charm is perhaps the most useful accessory in the game. Like others of its kind, it protects against mortal blows, but also has the added bonus of increasing nearly every stat in the game. Physical and Magical Defense are both boosted by 50 percent, as is Attack power.
This accessory can only be obtainedby defeating Culex, a powerful endgame boss. This makes it the perfect choice for any challenge the game can throw at you.
