Malenia is arguablyElden Ring’stoughest boss. So tough that a player called Let Me Solo Her became an icon in the community after helping those in need tokill Malenia over 1,000 times, even earning areward from developer FromSoftware itself. It was only a matter of time before they leapt through the multiverse and landed in Faerûn.
Thanks toBaldur’s Gate 3modder Hijimare, she’s now venturing out across the Sword Coast in hundreds of players' games. The mod, simply titledMalenia Set, adds her iconic armour, two swords, and wings. you’re able to either make Malenia your Tav or give her armour to someone in your party, if you fancy turning Shadowheart into a cosplayer.
While the mod is a near-perfect translation of Malenia from one game to another, there is one major difference - her skirt. “Since we don’t have access to physics we can’t make custom physics with collisions so [the long skirt] will clip through the body,” Hijimare commented. “That’s why I replaced her skirt with [a] short chain skirt. You can still put her original long skirt [on] but I don’t recommend it, the physics [are] very bad.”
You could combine the Malenia set withthe Aasimar modfor an even more authentic depiction, letting her use her wings rather than just having them be cosmetic, and if you want to bring more of FromSoft and George R. R. Martin’s world to Faerûn, Elden Ring mods are appearing all the time. Hijimare themself has another that addsthe Nox Monk Set, so you could dress Astarion up and have a whole squad of cosplayers.
Meanwhile, in Elden Ring, modders are bringing other characters to The Lands Between. Earlier this month,Kingdom Hearts fans made Kairi playable. She wakes up in the gruelling ruins of a civilisation fallen from grace - filled with those you could call heartless - in her Kingdom Hearts 3 outfit, but it goes far beyond changing the Tarnished’s model. She has a custom class called “Princess of Heart”, and six Keyblades have been placed in the world for you to find.
Otherwise, players are continuing to beat the game in bizarre ways, like streamer TiavioliGaming who is currentlyplaying through it with a violin. Or you have GoodGameEthan whorolls every time they roll in-game. Luckily, Malenia won’t have to contend with dance mats and hamsters in Baldur’s Gate 3 unless she runs into Minsc.
