We all know by now thatBaldur’s Gate 3is absolutely chock-full of hidden dialogue, funny scenes, and obscure items, most of which you’ll never discover on your own, even on your tenth playthrough. In an effort to ensure everyone experiences as much as possible, Baldur’s Gate 3 fans have banded together to share the things that they believe the vast majority of players will miss if they’re playing the game normally. It should go without saying, but expect some heavy spoilers going forward.
The first person to kick off this discussion is Reddit user Unlucky_Lifeguard, who put the questionto the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit earlier this week. For their pick, they explain that most people are probably unaware of how to obtain the Club of Hill Giant Strength. At the top of the Arcane Tower, you should find a stool with the same name, and breaking it gives you one of its legs, which is the weapon in question. Obviously, most people won’t go around examining every bit of unassuming furniture, so it’s definitely a weapon most people won’t find without knowing it’s there.
Unlucky_Lifeguard’s question prompted thousands of Baldur’s Gate 3 fans to share their hidden knowledge, including user lofi-moonchild. They explain that you may actually get some wholesome dialogue from Lae’zel if you go down her romance path and give her the Githyanki egg you can find in Act 1. If you beat the game while this egg is in Lae’zel’s inventory, you’ll be able to ask her how the child is doing, since you’re essentially raising it together.
You can actually do this without romancing Lae’zel too, so if you want to turn her into the best mother in Baldur’s Gate, you canfind a guide on the entire process here.
Another much more depressing interaction is shared by user Overlord1317, who explains that you can find a Tiefling girl spying on a Githyanki patrol who turns down your request for her to join your camp. Most people will run into her quite naturally, but what quite a lot of people didn’t know is that you can actually find her dead body in a prison cell in the Githyanki Crechea a little further in the game. You can apparently even use Speak with Dead on her if you want an even bigger dose of depression.
There are far too many examples shared in the thread to go into here, most of which involve hidden dialogue, out of the way items, and unique interactions between party members. It’s enough to make you wonder how Larian has actually managed to cram so much into one game that is easily missable, yet has made such an in-depth RPG experience for everyone anyway. It’s very impressive, and ever so slightly intimidating.
