Despite being a standalone experience within the base version of Tales of Arise, youcannot access Beyond the Dawn without also owning Tales of Arise.This means that if you purchase the expansion without having a physical or digital copy of Tales of Arise, you cannot play it.
However, this also means that if you purchase the Beyond the Dawn DLC and Tales of Arise, youcan access the DLC without playing the Main Story of the game,as it is a standalone experience within the game.
But, it is worth noting that you do get someuseful Bonus Rewards for meeting specific milestones within the Main Story of Tales of Arise.The story of theDLC also picks up one year after the events of the Main Story,meaning you will getspoiled heavilyif you jump straight into the DLC. You will alsobe a little lost.
Who Is Nazamil?
Nazamilis anew characterin the Beyond the Dawn expansion of Tales of Arise andserves a crucial rolein the story. Little is known about her aside from her being thedaughter of the former lord who preceded Vholran, Lord Urwagil, and an enslaved Dhananwe currently know very little about.
Hermixed blood is a source of great hardship for Nazamil,as she receives immense abuse from both her family and the townsfolk alike, causing her to get kicked out of her town, whereshe runs into the main cast of Tales of Arise,kicking off the Beyond the Dawn expansion.
Can You Play As Nazamil?
WhileNazamilisone of the primary focuses of the storyin Beyond the Dawn,she is neither a playable character nor fights alongside youin combat. Thenarrative is centered on her journey,diving deep into her origins and culminating with what is ultimately her destiny.
Does Anything Carry Over From The Base Game To Beyond The Dawn?
Not much carries over from the base version of Tales of Arise into the Beyond the Dawn DLC, having youlose all Weapons, Armor, and Accessories.However,all Titleswillcome with you from the base game to the expansion, along withyourRecipes,Outfits, and other DLCitems.
One crucial thing to note is thatwhile all Titles carry overto the expansion,not all Skills will be unlocked for each Title,even if you have everyone at Level 100. This means you will have toearn and spend lots of Skill Points (SP) to re-activate the nodes on each Titlein the Skill Tree for each character. Again.
Are There New Artes In The Beyond The Dawn DLC?
If losing some of your Artes seemed bad enough, wait until you learn thatthere are no new Artes to learn or obtainin the Beyond the Dawn DLC of Tales of Arise. You will alsohave to earn most of your Artes again for each character,which will be a bit underwhelming if you were expecting cool new Artes.
Additionally, while theenemy AI in combat has been improved, along with Boost Attacks,thecombat system, characters, and Artes all remain largely unchanged,so if youhad success with specific builds in the past,they will likely work in this expansion as well!
Does Beyond The Dawn Feature Any New Areas?
Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn will haveno new regions to explore,as you will be revisiting many of the places you’ve visited in the base version of the game. While they will lookslightly different due to the climax of the Main Story,they are still largely the same area as before.
With that said, there arethree new Dungeons in Beyond the Dawn,which areall different areas,serving as theonly new places you can explore.Additionally, there are alsonew enemies you get to encounter in both the central regions of the DLC and the new Dungeons,which can make exploring even previously picked-apart areas not as bad as you might think.
