Last week was the first of many significant ones for video game releases in 2024. Kicking the video game calendar off earlier than usual,Prince of Persia: The Lost Crownlaunched on Thursday,The Last Of Us Part 2 Remasteredfollowed on Friday, and then millions of us spent the weekend playingPalworld. You might have thoughtAnother Code: Recollection- which was also released on Friday - was overlooked with all that going on, but a severe lack of physical copies on store shelves suggests otherwise.

Fans of the series hoping to own a boxed version of the remastered collection have been left empty-handed, unsure of where to look next. Particularly annoying since for a lot of people, half of Recollection will be an entirely new game. Featuring two remasters, the second game Another Code - R: A Journey Into Lost Memories has never been released in the US before last week.

If you have been on the lookout for a physical copy of Another Code: Recollection, then a few of the major retailers that have had it in stock at some point between release day and now are listed in the box below with links to the game’s store pages. At the time of typing this, Walmart and Best Buy appear to have physical copies of the collection in stock. However, it’s worth checking all of the links just in case the game has been restocked at other retailers.

WHERE TO PLAY

Another Code: Recollection brings together the classic adventure puzzle game Another Code: Two Memories and its sequel, Another Code: R - A Journey into Lost Memories, fully remade for Nintendo Switch.

Originally released onNintendo DS, Another Code: Two Memories, the part of Recollection that was released in the US, centers around Ashley Robbins who you’re tasked with helping as she tries to track down her father. On top of including a sequel many fans of the first game will have never had the chance to play before, Another Code: Recollection also has polished visuals, voice acting, and scenarios that weren’t included in the original games.

Hopefully, this instance of physical video games being tough to find is simply due to Nintendo not anticipating demand and not another omen that the age of physical media in video games is coming to an end. A leaked screenshot from Walmart’s internal staff app this week revealedphysical copies of Starfield were being removed from store shelvesand disposed of. That followsAlan Wake 2not getting a physical release, andXbox confirming Hellblade 2 will be digital only too.
