Although the relationship betweenLegoand video games is hardly new, the influx of video game Lego sets has been massive in recent years. It kicked off with the firstSuper Marioset in 2020 and not only has that collection continued to grow, but the plumber’s rivalSonic also has his own Lego range, andAnimal Crossing will join them on March 1. Lego is undoubtedly on the lookout for other games it can collaborate with, andAmong Usmight be one of them.
Countless brilliant minds are working at Lego, but sometimes, its best ideas come from outside the toy brick bubble. That’s why Lego Ideas exists. A program where anyone with the know-how can submit a set they’d like to see become a reality. If that set generates enough support (the virtual backing of at least 10,000 people), then Lego will consider making the set a reality. That’s the threshold an elaborate Among Us set recently surpassed.
Reported byThe Brick Fan, the Among Us set was created and shared on Lego Ideas by BrickRealm101. The set is a perfect Lego recreation of Among Us’s original map, The Skeld. Made up of almost 3,000 pieces, the set also includes 12 Lego crewmates, each of them a different color just like the immensely popular game on which the set is based. There are also accessories so the crewmates can be customized, again, just like in the game.
If Lego likes BrickRealm101’s idea, it’ll be a while before we see their Among Us set become a reality. The first review period of 2024 is in May, after which the sets Lego likes most of the ones to surpass 10,000 supporters will be turned into official sets. For sets like Among Us, that also means getting the studio behind the game, in this caseInnerSloth, on board. Lego can’t go ahead and make a Lego set based on a pre-existing IP unless the owner of that IP is on board.
Also joining the Among Us set in the next review period will bea No Man’s Sky set which hit 10,000 supporters at the end of 2023. However, any Zelda sets that may have been submitted will not be a part of the review.Lego slammed the door on Zelda submissionsmore than a year ago. That combined witha rumored release date for a Great Deku Tree setstrongly suggests we’ll be getting some official Zelda Lego in 2024.
