There’s almost certainly a newXboxcontroller coming. What we don’t know for certain is what that controller will look like, when it will be here, or what it will cost. Well, now we might know two out of three of those things asan Amazon listingfor the upcoming controller has gone live a little early. It lists the price, when the controller will be available to buy, but there aren’t any pictures, nor is there a description of the controller.
Spotted by Wario64, the listing includes a $69.99 price tag and even though customers don’t know exactly what it is they’re buying, you may pre-order the controller right now. It won’t be released until July 29, 2025, which might mean three weeks of waiting to find out what exactly it is you’ve bought if you do decide to pull the trigger on a pre-order now with very little information at your disposal.
Even the title of the product is just a generic, placeholder name for the time being. The most likely scenario is this is the Dream Vapor controller leaked bydealabs. While it couldn’t provide images of the upcoming Xbox controller, it’s believed the platform’s first new controller of 2024 will be similar to the Stormcloud Vapor option but pink instead of blue. Dealabs' report also claims the controller will cost $69.99 which lines up with the price on the Amazon listing.
The long shot here, and the reason why some people have likely already dropped $70 on a controller they’ve not even seen, is that this is the rumoredElden Ringcontroller created to celebrate to potential launch of The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The first suggestion Xbox will be getting an Elden Ring controller surfaced at the end of 2023,and then a leaked image- the legitimacy of which remains hazy - sent social media into a tailspin.
The rumored release date for the Elden Ring controller is Jun 08, 2025, exactly two years after the launch of Elden Ring. Another reason why the mysterious Amazon listing probably isn’t connected to The Shadow of the Erdtree. If you do want to take a chance and place a pre-order before the listing has pictures or even a name, be my guest. Hey, the worst-case scenario is you get a fancy new Xbox controller about three weeks from now.
