In the bleak universe ofLethal Company, where relentless monsters, labyrinthine facilities, and the relentless pursuit of capitalist quotas are the norm, your fear shouldn’t stop at the things that go bump in the shadows! Weather conditions on the eerie moons where you scavenge can prove just as lethal to Company employees.
From lightning to quicksand, each weather hazard poses its own perilous challenges. In this guide, we dive into every single weather condition to explain their effects, hazards, and tips for surviving them—so that not even nature itself can stop you from reaching your quota for The Company.

Lethal Company is currently in Early Access, which means certain details and mechanicsmight undergo changesas the game updates.
How Weather Works
Weather is a gameplay mechanic in Lethal Company thataffects moons at randomand candrastically alter the difficultyof the moon.
The current weather affecting each moon can be seenon the “moon” pageon the terminal. To reach this page, type “moons"into the terminal input box. Each weather condition can be seen behind the moon’s name in parentheses.

Weatherdoes not appear to consistently affect the total scrap value, or individual scrap value, on the moon. As such, it is recommended that yousteer clear of moons with weather conditionsat all.
However, there may be cases where you are forced to land or stay on a moon that is being affected by a weather condition—such as if you are currently on a paid moon or if all of the moons are generated with weather conditions.

In that case, it’s important to know exactly what each weather condition does, in order tosafely complete the daywithout dying and wasting it.
Weather conditionsdo not affect the insideof facility buildings.
Rainy
This weather condition causes a drizzle over the moon. It will alsocreate quicksand patchesacross the moon, which can be a deadly threat to unprepared players.
Quicksand looks likedark patches of mud, andcan be difficult to noticewithout a keen eye, especially on forested planets such as Vow. When you see quicksand,be sure to call it outto your teammates so they don’t accidentally succumb to a watery death!

If you walk into quicksand, you willimmediately begin to sink. To other players, your voice will becomemuffled and gurgle-y. You will have a very short frame of time after stepping into quicksand to escape it, but you’llneed to move fast.
If you die to quicksand, your bodywill not be able to be recovered by the teleporter, incurringextra penalty feesat the end of the day from The Company.

The moonMarchisconsistently afflicted with the rainy condition, and features permanent quicksand spots, making it dangerous to explore.
Foggy
Moons with the foggy weather condition will becovered in a thick, dense fog. This fog is not innately dangerous butmakes visibility almost zero.
Not being able to see your surroundings makes you more susceptible torunning into foessuch as the Eyeless Dog and Forest Keeper. If you’re not familiar with the moon you’re on, this can alsocause you to get lost, wasting precious time or even killing you.

This weather condition isone of the least harmfulif you must choose a weathered moon to go to, but we recommend only going to foggy moons ifyou are familiar with the exits and entrancesto the facility on said moon.

Stormy
Stormy moons are plagued with thunderstorms and frequent lightning strikes. Though the atmosphere will be rainy and wet, this weather conditionwill not cause quicksand.
Lightning willinstantly kill if it strikes a player, and has the highest chance of striking a playerholding a metal object in their hand—though itmay also strike randomly.
If you are holding such an objectout in the open, it will begin to spark, signaling that lightning is about to strike. When this happens, drop the metal object immediatelyand getout of the way.
After lightning strikes the object, you are free to pick it up and continue walking until the next instance of a lightning strike.
Lightning can be used to kill dangerous enemies in the outdoors, such as Eyeless Dogs.
Flooded
Flooded moons may appear harmless at first, with onlysmall puddles of waterscattered around the moon.
However, as time passes, the puddles of water willbecome deeper and deeper, eventually becomingimpossible to traversewithout losing all your stamina and drowning.
If you are on a moon with the flooded condition, we recommend making your wayback to your ship by 4:00 pmto avoid dying on your way back.
Eclipsed
On eclipsed moons, all night-time entities, such as theEyeless Dog,Earth Leviathan, andForest Keepercan spawn at any point of the day.
The eclipsed condition isby far the most dangerous weather condition, and we highly recommendavoiding it at all costs.
If you insist on taking on the added challenge, however, our guide on eclipsescan keep you unscathed (or, at least, still breathing) through the day.
