How To Cook In My Time At Sandrock
How To Unlock Cooking
In My Time at Sandrock, cooking is a bit different from other games of its ilk. Instead of building and upgrading a kitchen, you’ll need toresearch progressively better cooking equipmentand build it for your Workshop.
Be sure to buy meals fromthe Blue Moon Saloonbefore you can cook, though - cooked food is great for your builder’s stats and stamina!

Like all the other machines in My Time at Sandrock, cooking equipment will need to beupgraded with blueprints fromthe Research Center. It’s also important to know thatyou don’t start with any cookware unlocked- you’ll need to startfrom the ground up.
When it comes to cooking in My Time at Sandrock, there arefour cooking stationsyou’ll need to prototype and craft. They can be found under theProduct Creating Machinetab.

Since your workstations are limited in what they can make until you improve them, you’re able to’t make every dish until you’vefully upgradedthe Cooking Stations.
How To Create New Recipes
While you’ll receive a handful of recipes as you play the game and befriend the locals, for the most part, My Time at Sandrock’s cooking mechanic relies on youexperimenting with different ingredients and cooking methods.
As stated above, better Cooking Stations unlock new cookware, and these increasingly involvedmethods of cooking allow you to create new recipes from scratch.

Your builder is limited by the tools at their disposal, meaning you’ll need toupgrade your cooking equipmentto continue making new meals.
On the second tab at your cooking station, the one that looks like abeaker, you’ll find yourself able tochoose cooking methods, ingredients, and herbsto blend together into dozens of unique dishes.

Here, you’ll be able tocarefully select ingredientsthat seem like they’d work together in pursuit ofnew homemade recipesthat your builder has made up themselves.
Choose someherbs and spicesto add in on the second page of your ingredients list, and then choose one offour different cooking methodsfor your builder to use in preparing this meal. Once you’ve got everything in order, confirmyour decision.

Any time you’resuccessful in creating a new recipe, you’ll not only receive a portion ofthe mealitself, but therecipe is loggedand can now be accessed from the recipe menu to be quickly re-prepared later.
If you’reunsuccessful in creating a new recipe, you’ll get a pile ofFood Scrapsinstead.
