Going out to eat at a fancy restaurant is just part of the experience. you’re able to build your own restaurant and turn it into a five-star eatery, become a food critic, and plenty more.
One of the most fun aspects is trying out the new experimental dishes. Not only are these fancy foods the most flavorful, but they also introduce a new Household Collection for your photos. Once you know what to do, getting the Experimental Food Photos Collection is a breeze.

How To Get Experimental Food Photos
To get the photos for the Experimental Food Photos Collection, you need to take photos of all the experimental dishes you eat. The easiest way to do this is togo out to eat at a restaurant and order experimental dishes.
Luckily, there is aMaxis lot that serves all the experimental dishes you needfor the collection. It is theChez Llama restaurant, which you may find in the gallery, and then place anywhere with enough space.

you may also build your own restaurant and set the menu to experimental by editing the menu when in Build Mode and choosingLoad Preset, then choosingExperimental.
How To Order Experimental Food
Go to the restaurant and selectRequest a Tableby clicking on the host. They will sit you at a table in the dining room, and then you can click on the table and chooseOrder for Table.
From the menu, make sure you select one of the experimental dishes.

Unfortunately, you cannot order an appetizer, main course, and dessert in one order. You will need to place an order, finish it, and then place another. As soon as your food arrives, click on the table again and clickOrder for Tableagain.
Once the food has been brought to your table, you can click on it and chooseTake Photo of Experimental Foodto add the picture to your inventory. This will count towards the Experimental Food Photo Collection.

There are a total of 20 photos in the Experimental Food Photo Collection. These are all the foods you need to take photos of, how much they cost, and whether they are an appetizer, main course, or dessert.

You will need to either order multiple dishes on one tab when you go out to eat, or continually return to the restaurant and order different dishes each time to get photos of them all.
The experimental dishes are some of the most expensive in the game. However, you’re able to get some of your Simoleons back if you want by selling the photos for $10 each after you’ve taken them. Try taking multiple photos to get more money.
How To Check Progress Towards Experimental Food Photos Collection
Once you’ve taken a photo of an experimental food,the photo will appear in your inventory, and you will receive a pop-up stating that the photo was taken.
To check progress on the collection, you can open your Sims' inventory and choose the button with a diamond icon that saysHousehold Collections. Scroll down to find the Experimental Food Photos Collection. This will tell you how many photos you’ve taken.
The photo itself is not an in-game capture but rather art of the food.All of the photos in the collection have a rarity of Common. You can hover over the photos to see which experimental foods you’ve already taken photos of.
Once the photos are in your inventory, they will count towards the collection, regardless if you sell them or place them on a lot. You can decorate a lot with them, add frames to the photos, and plenty more.
Once you have photos of all 20 dishes, the collection is complete.
