Holding a Medallion allows you to unlock a vault in the same location as the boss battle, which contains three chests that hold high-value loot. Most importantly, holding a Medallion provides you with constant buffs to your shields, so you’ll want to remember which POIs to land at to secure these valuable rewards.

How To Obtain A Medallion

At the start of every match, you can familiarize yourself with the map layout before you drop. While these bosses are not the hardest challenge to complete, they do have a unique gameplay mechanic thatregenerates their shields and spawns a large assortment of NPC grunts that will hunt you down. Once you defeat the main boss, they will drop their Medallion as a reward.

Every medallion in the game comes in two different versions. One version willincrease the maximum amount of shieldsyou can have at once, while the other medallion makes your shieldconstantly regenerate over time.

Medallions do not take up a weapon slot in your inventory,so you can hold up to five at once. Holding more than one medallion makes the effects of these items more potent, meaning that you will regenerate shields faster or have a larger amount of maximum shields.

Keep in mind that, while holding a medallion, your location is shown on the mapvia a large orange circle that moves wherever you go. The more medallions you or your team are carrying, the more accurate this identification circle becomes.
