The battle system ofStar Ocean: The Second Story Rreceived a massive overhaul as part of the remake’s transition to the modern age. One new addition is Assault Actions, which allow you to summon your party members in reserve to the battlefield to perform a move chosen by you from their usual repertoire.
While this gives your reserves some sorely needed utility, you can forgo them entirely in favour of characters from other Star Ocean games! There are six in total, found throughout the game. They each come with powerful skills, so collecting them is a great way to improve the flexibility of your party.
All Character Jewel Locations
There are six jewels to find in the game. Once found, you’ll be able to equip them to any one of the four Assault Action slots tied to directional buttons.
Edge

Trade in a Harbor Amago, Divine Char, or Spring Child to Reel.
The easiest of these to catch is the Divine Char, which can be found in the river in the Southern Krosse region.
Fidel

Defeat one of the optional raid bosses that are found on the world map. These are the large enemies shrouded in mist and are incredibly powerful.
Raymond

Fish up 22 different varieties of fish and then talk to Reel.
Laeticia
Found inside a chest at the back of Krosse Cave during the story events there.
In thefirst partof the game, you’ll find Reel inHarley.
In thesecond part, he’ll be inL’Aqua.
