If you’re a fan ofThe Elder Scrolls, you’ll likely be aware of Saturalia, which is essentially the world’s Christmas equivalent. Just like in the real world, residents ofSkyrimwear traditional clothing, decorate trees, and give each other presents. It’s a jolly time of year, but not everyone is as full of festive cheer as everyone else, and that’s what the fan-made quest “The Gift of Saturalia” revolves around.
Created by modder JaySerpa (thanksVG24/7),this side questis designed to celebrate the holiday season of both our world and Skyrim’s, and has you working with a suspicious bearded trader (you’re not fooling anyone mate) to help people who may be having a pretty tough time. By doing so, you’ll be “spreading the spirit of Saturalia across the province” and getting yourself in the festive spirit at the same time.
To make this quest even better, it will be fully voiced. JaySerpa states that the quest is designed to bring some attention to the more forgettable individuals in Skyrim, who will have new lines of dialogue which will be fully voiced. Twitch streamersLIZZandUrgiehave lent their voices to Diane the Bard and Niklas the Trader respectively, with the dialogue of other characters having been spliced together from existing voice lines. Absolutely zero AI here, which is what we like to see.
The quest itself is pretty chunky, and will take you around one to two hours to complete, but the most impressive part of this quest is that it will leave a lasting impact on the world. JaySerpa has explained that completing the quest will allow you to see the results of your hard work and that there is additional scenes and dialogue after you’ve finished the quest that will show you how the good you’ve done has impacted each person’s life.
If all of this sounds like your cup of tea, you can download the questvia Nexus Mods, which doesn’t require any additional add-ons besides the base game itself. If you’re feeling festive, you can grab the Saturalia Holiday Pack from the Creation Club, and the mod will verify to put it to good use, but it isn’t mandatory. If you’re still not sold, JaySerpa has even put together a trailer, which demonstrates some of the voice acting and teases what you’ll be getting up to.
